Historia
It’s not always easy to tell when you’re dealing with a narcissist. One day they draw you in with their confidence and charisma, the next they gaslight you, wreck your self-confidence, and leave you wondering, What could I have done differently? As Dr. Ramani Durvasula reveals in It's Not You, the answer is: absolutely nothing. Just as a tiger can’t change its stripes, a narcissist won’t stop manipulating and invalidating you. To heal in the aftermath of their abuse and protect yourself from future harm, you first have to accept that you are not to blame.

Heavy and worthy journey that is needed
Revisado: 06-07-24
This is a heavy subject and really took me down a few emotional rabbit holes, questioning my worth and who I am. I needed to hear this subject as I have asked my therapist in the past year and a half time after time if I was a narcissist. The amount of detail and explanation that is in this book is incredible .

Historia
In his best-selling book Falling Upward, Richard Rohr talked about ego (or the False Self) and how it gets in the way of spiritual maturity. But if there's a False Self, is there also a True Self? What is it? How is it found? This book likens True Self to a diamond, buried deep within us, formed under the intense pressure of our lives, that must be searched for, uncovered, separated from all the debris of ego that surrounds it. In a sense True Self must, like Jesus, be resurrected, and that process is not resuscitation but transformation.

The limits of my language is the limit of my world
Revisado: 01-27-23
This book has made a huge impact on my mental health and wellbeing. I was not able to communicate emotionally to anyone because I never knew how to. Brené Brown explains emotions with a caring voice . This 2 or 3 time read to understand as it is a lot information . I had big questions about some emotions like shame and perfectionism that floored my heart that she addresses and has made me feel better about myself. This is the first book of hers that I listen to and it has changed my perspective on myself and life. I Also discovered the series on this book and love it. Thank you Brene Brown for a wonderful time. this understanding more about my emotions and life experiences will help me in my journey of healing. Everyone must read this book.
