Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Historia
Intelligence is usually seen as the ability to think and learn, but in a rapidly changing world, there's another set of cognitive skills that might matter more: the ability to rethink and unlearn. In our daily lives, too many of us favor the comfort of conviction over the discomfort of doubt. We listen to opinions that make us feel good, instead of ideas that make us think hard. We see disagreement as a threat to our egos, rather than an opportunity to learn.

I loved how Adam connected the need to think again to many of the biggest worlds challenges
Revisado: 11-11-23
Adam covered the challenges we face when rethinking. Provided a detailed analysis of the problem and the solution. And provided great advice for change around how we rethink. The one phrase that I found most difficult was the reference to scientist. Yes, I get the definition, brilliant understand. however, this is not only about intellectual thinking. rethinking has essence within all our senses and employment of those senses as part of checking on our reality, sensing the other persons’ perspectives, going to our response, feeling our heart.

Historia
When you ask leaders in a high performing organization about the key to their success, the answers are all over the place: failing fast, radical transparency, operational excellence, strong core values...so many different North Stars to follow. Then, if you ask them for an example - to tell you what that looks like in practice - they will all describe a meeting. Leaders at these organizations have learned to design a sequence of tailored meetings that create a healthy organizational culture and drive forward momentum. They know that meetings are where the action is.

What does having great meetings have to do with winning soccer championships?

What does having great meetings have to do with winning soccer championships?
Revisado: 12-12-20
The magic of Elise’ work on meetings is hidden within the title “where the action is”. In Netflix’s The Playbook, Jose Mourinho’s sixth rule for his “Coach’s Rules for Life” is “Don’t coach the player, coach the team”. In soccer, as in business meetings, it is when the team is in play (and the coach has no control) is when the action needs to happen. Winning comes from the hard work of building repeatable dynamic structures and processes. These are established with discipline, practice and constant learning. They are a prerequisite to the many magic moments that change the fortunes of soccer teams and businesses. Elise’s book on structuring meetings guides us how to drive micro change in how people work together in meetings. These disciplines drive macro level change helping teams score more goals.

Learn to approach the critical decisions in your life with a more seasoned, educated eye with this fascinating 24-lecture series that explores how individuals, groups, and organizations make effective decisions. The heart of this accessible series is a thorough examination of decision making at three key levels. First, you'll look at decisions made at the individual level, where, among the many things you'll learn is that intuition is more than just a gut instinct and, in fact, represents a powerful pattern recognition capability.

Fascinating articulation of personal, group and organization factors that hinder and drive good decision making
Revisado: 10-15-16
Loved it! Should be combined with more integration of negotiation and mediation technique. Highly recommended for all that care about organizational performance
