Historia
By August 1968, the American space program was in danger of failing in its two most important objectives: to land a man on the moon by President Kennedy's end-of-decade deadline and to triumph over the Soviets in space. With its back against the wall, NASA made an almost unimaginable leap: It would scrap its usual methodical approach and risk everything on a sudden launch, sending the first men in history to the moon - in just four months.

Historia
An electromagnetic pulse blinds the U.S. Cars crash. Planes fall. Chaos reigns. Power is restored within minutes, but it’s already too late. Russian nukes are falling. U.S. allies around the world are already wiped out. The United States will cease to exist inside of five minutes. After giving the order to launch a full-scale retaliation–dooming the planet–the president, his staff, Secret Service and those lucky enough to be visiting the White House, are whisked below ground, where they board several Earth Escape Pods. As the EEPs launch into Earth orbit, missiles descend.

Revisado: 03-13-23
It was boring. It was a slog to get through. Honestly the only reason I soldiered on and finished it was because of the infinite universe “not a series” series thing. By far the worst of any of them. I don’t even mind someone tackling religion and heaven vs hell and all of that. This one was just flat with no real story. Very boring. RC Bray is great as always but not a huge fan of him trying to do a little girls voice. Ah well, can’t win them all.

Historia
Miah Gray is a 27-year-old former army soldier living in rural New Hampshire with his sister, mother, and her boyfriend. He is plagued by PTSD, finding solace, but not redemption, with the aid of prescribed cannabis. All he wants to do is get high, relax with a good sandwich, and watch a meteor shower with his neighborhood crush, Jen. When the sun's light is blotted out the following morning and the world is plunged into darkness, Miah finds himself locked down with his family, covering windows with trash bags, lighting candles, and following the arcane rules of an ancient prophecy.

absolutely loved it. love RC Bray and love this new concept. I've been knocking out a lot of post apocalyptic fiction and this was definitely a fresh take on something like that.

The word "parenting" can cause all sorts of nightmares in your head right now, and if it is, congratulations. No seriously, congratulations! This means you’re not an idiot, and you are aware of the difficult task that lies ahead. Society often tells us dads that our job is to simply provide financial support and leave the caring part to our partners. Well, I’m here to tell you that this is utter nonsense! That whole spiel about how women are biologically attuned to be more nurturing while men are better off running around chucking spears at things? Baloney!

Mostly good...
Revisado: 09-20-21
I would say so far this is the better of the books I have listened to in preparation for our baby. Honestly, though I am getting so sick of the statements in these books, this one included, that tell me how I am going to feel about something and I'll just need to push through essentially. These books just assume that anything my wife will want to do I will not be excited about and that it will be healthy for me to "just suck it up and do it with her". Naming, setting up the nursery, talking about things, planning, etc. Just because there are old tropes and stereotypes of men from the 1950s in regard to pregnancy doesn't mean anything to most men today. I'm not even progressive or liberal and this type of thing in these books is annoying me.

Historia
On the evening of November 24, 1971, D. B. Cooper hijacked Flight 305—Portland to Seattle—with a fake bomb, collected a ransom of $200,000, and then parachuted from the rear of the plane, disappearing into the night...and into history. Fifty years later, Agent Pendergast takes on a bizarre and gruesome case: in the ghost-haunted city of Savannah, Georgia, bodies are found with no blood left in their veins—sowing panic and reviving whispered tales of the infamous Savannah Vampire.

Good story not great recording
Revisado: 09-03-21
I love all the Pendergast books and the previous narrator's but this one was not even close. I had to constantly turn the volume up and down. it was not leveled very well or something. my car only goes to 30 and at 24 I still couldn't hear some soft lines and then all of a sudden it was so loud I felt like someone a few lanes over could hear. it also happened with headphones too.

I love all the Jack Reacher books. And I have loved all the books so far I’ve listened to performed by Scott Brick... but he is not the voice of Reacher. It was very distracting a lot of the time.

Historia
A plucky farm boy will find more than he's bargained for on his quest to awaken the sleeping princess in her cursed tower. First there's the Dark Lord, who wishes for the boy's untimely death...and also very fine cheese. Then there's a bard without a song in her heart but with a very adorable and fuzzy tail, an assassin who fears not the night but is terrified of chickens, and a mighty fighter more frightened of her sword than of her chain-mail bikini. This journey will lead to sinister umlauts, a trash-talking goat, and the Dread Necromancer Steve....

I tried... I really tried
Revisado: 07-19-18
I love Kevin Hearne’s previous works and I love Luke Daniels as a narrator. Seeing this funny book available for pre-order, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and listen obsessively. Well that did not happen. I tried so hard to keep pushing through. At first I was chuckling, then rolling my eyes, then shaking my head, then getting angry... So I just had to stop. Audible was kind enough to give me a refund though. There are just too many over the top fantasy tropes CONSTANTLY under a barrage of puns, sillily stupid language, and flat out being made fun of while also having a not so subtle undercurrent of leftist garbage identity politics being pushed.
Audio books are where I go to get away from the constant rain of political topics all over the US. So as stated I tried but couldn’t do it.

Form ok to worse
Revisado: 07-08-18
Book one was okay enough I moved on to book 2. That was a slog... my issues from book one continued in book 2 but they made it so much worse by adding Xe Sands in as a second narrator. Her voice and cadence and style are all so jarring it is not a good experience. Unfortunately I purchased books 2 and 3 at the same time. I’m slowly working my way through but I honestly will probably just return these. I have 40 audiobooks in audible and about 370 in iTunes with various narrators but Xe Sands has got to be the worst I’ve ever listened too. Her portions of the book make me want to just shut it off as I often do. I was cruising through 5-10 audiobooks a month until these last two destroyer books and now it seems I’d rather sit in silence at work or while doing the dishes than listen to her awful narration. It’s a shame because I really like a lot of Michael Scott-Earle’s stuff.

It’s okay...
Revisado: 07-08-18
The narration was fine. The story was just as the title says. Okay. Not terrible and not amazing. It was good enough I got book two but I have a bunch of others to get to before it. One of the biggest cringeworthy parts that happens a few times is in intimate scenes calling the female part an entrance. It just was awfully jarring. The next irritating aspect was the constant disconnects between characters.

Amazing
Revisado: 04-10-18
I am so glad I search for new books narrated by Luke Daniels every month or so. I found this gem. It’s a bit of a guilty pleasure book for me with some of the mature content I suppose but I loved it. Great main protagonist and Luke was the perfect voice for the job.
