Not her best
Revisado: 08-30-24
I love Freida McFadden’s books. However, this story fell short compared to her other stories. The twist and turns are predictable, and the characters are unremarkable.

I absolutely loved all of the complexities found in this novel. The story was compelling and fun, and the author is clearly ahead of his time.

I only try on one of Nina’s pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it’s like. But she soon finds out...and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it’s far too late. But I reassure myself: The Winchesters don’t know who I really am. They don’t know what I’m capable of....

Predictable and cliche

I essentially got this book for free, so I can’t complain about the price, but it was really predictable and there is not a single twist.

Historia
E. A. Smithe is a borrowed person. He is a clone who lives on a third-tier shelf in a public library, and his personality is an uploaded recording of a deceased mystery writer. Smithe is a piece of property, not a legal human. A wealthy patron, Colette Coldbrook, takes him from the library because he is the surviving personality of the author of Murder on Mars. A physical copy of that book was in the possession of her murdered father, and it contains an important secret, the key to immense family wealth.

Implausible, unimaginative and boring
Revisado: 04-26-23
I purchased this novel because it is a book selected by my book club. Unfortunately, it was dull and imaginative and difficult to follow. The story follows a cloned author who is the property of the library, where he is checked out, just like you would check out a book. One day, after being checked out, the clone encounters, a young woman, eager to learn his secrets.

My 14-year-old daughter started reading this book and in order to try and relate to her I picked it up. For a book that relates to a teenager I found it reasonably interesting and worth reading.
