How will AI evolve and what major innovations are on the horizon? What will its impact be on the job market, economy, and society? What is the path toward human-level machine intelligence? What should we be concerned about as artificial intelligence advances? Architects of Intelligence contains a series of in-depth, one-to-one interviews where New York Times best-selling author Martin Ford uncovers the truth behind these questions from some of the brightest minds in the artificial intelligence community.

Very interesting sometimes
Revisado: 03-01-23
Definitely not terrible. I did enjoy listening to different takes on general AI architecture approaches. Even though there aren't many. Most of them just keep repeating the same stuff. I really liked Geoffrey Hinton, Gary Marcus and Joshua Tenenbaum. The rest either didn't say much substantial or original about AI architecture or talk too much about social implications.
Also, if you don't have the technical knowledge in the field, you are probably gonna get bored as they get very technical often. I'd say this book is mostly for tech professionals.

Historia
In this book, we travel inside Emily's and Paul's brains as they attempt to sort the vast quantities of information they're presented with, figure out how to prioritize it, organize it, and act on it. Fortunately for Emily and Paul, they're in good hands: David Rock knows how the brain works - and more specifically, how it works in a work setting. Rock shows how it's possible for Emily and Paul, and thus the listener, not only to survive in today's overwhelming work environment but succeed in it - and still feel energized and accomplished at the end of the day.

Practical neuroscience for laymen
Revisado: 07-26-16
The narration was fine. Don't know why the other guy complained about it. The content should be interesting for people who have little idea how the brain works. I've been reading books and listening to lectures for a few years now, so very little was new to me. The book teaches to recognize and control the limbic system and gives real-life examples to illustrate how it works.

Historia
One hundred thousand years ago, at least six human species inhabited the Earth. Today there is just one. Us. Homo sapiens. How did our species succeed in the battle for dominance? Why did our foraging ancestors come together to create cities and kingdoms? How did we come to believe in gods, nations, and human rights; to trust money, books, and laws; and to be enslaved by bureaucracy, timetables, and consumerism?

One of the best books I've ever read.
Revisado: 06-08-16
A fairly comprehensive analysis of our species from the very conception to the hypothetical end. Yuval has an exceptionally objective view on our history, constantly providing an accurate perspective on the events.
