The narrator, the writer, because I identified with is character.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed and cried! It really made me think about my own childhood and how we played baseball in the field at BBQ's or in the park on weekends, how I wanted to play 3rd base JUST LIKE MY DAD... I had a dream...
Any additional comments?
This story really showed me the behind the scenes relationship of pitchers and batters; their "rules".

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

Historia
The Corrections is a grandly entertaining novel for the new century - a comic, tragic masterpiece about a family breaking down in an age of easy fixes. Richly realistic, darkly hilarious, deeply humane, it confirms Jonathan Franzen as one of our most brilliant interpreters of American society and the American soul.

Don't waste your time or $$
Revisado: 09-19-12
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I just kept waiting for the story to pick up or get interesting and it NEVER did. What a complete waste of my time and money!
What was most disappointing about Jonathan Franzen’s story?
It was boring. The story line was dull.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
I won't throw the baby out with the bathwater...the narrator did the best he could with the material he had.
