Historia
When Dr. Sanjay Gupta travels the world for CNN to report on natural disasters, conflicts, and catastrophes, he illuminates the stories of the affected and the afflicted. But a few times in his career, while reporting abroad, he’s been asked to don his surgeon’s cap and gloves to intervene in high-stakes medical emergencies. Far from his controlled and highly regulated operating rooms, Gupta found himself trying to save lives in the most makeshift and trying conditions.

Yvonne Durant was one of the few Black women writing ads for major brands in the ‘70s and ‘80s. Ambitious and determined, she ultimately won a position at a global ad agency in Milan, Italy. While her career was exciting, it was a challenge to be self-defining in a Mad Men world that had little experience with or respect for Black experience.

If you're into jazz history and gossip you might like this memoir. It was too sad and lonely for me to enjoy. There were happy moments in the book but overall it wasn't something I would recommend.

Loved it! It was amazing that even though Will started from a different part of the world in a career far from mine, we have many similar experiences, thoughts and feelings. No matter where you start, we all end up learning the same things in life. I highly recommend this listen. Thank you Will for sharing!

A nice listen but sometimes long-winded

Some parts were very inspiring but overall I feel I could go through all that information in half the time, tops! Plus, it was a bit more religious and less scientific at times, with sentences from the Bible everywhere.

Historia
Cara Alwill Leyba's riveting voice and kinship with her audience drove the self-published success of Girl Code, a book that encouraged women to support each other in the business community. Now her many fans are ready to take the next step: building sustainable confidence from the ground up. Most women who are insecure look for the equivalent of a sugar rush, such as telling themselves they're better than other people or changing the way they look. But those tricks won't protect them from losing confidence in the future.

A good read
Revisado: 04-04-20
I loved most parts of this book. Some of the ideas were what I actually do already to help me regulate myself and work hard for my dreams. It felt good to hear it from a professional. Some ideas sounded a little selfish to me like kicking friends out of your life. I think everyone we encounter has a message for us to help us improve, or reach our dreams. When we hate people, we need to think, be patient and learn from them, not be rude and kick then out of our lives.
Overall, it was a good read with plenty of bubbly ideas. Thanks Cara!

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

This book is an excellent piece of literature. It certainly exceeded my expectations.
The performance was also outstanding, as well as the voice of the narrator, as if it were created especially for this job!

Fantastic healing method, I can listen to it again and again. The only problem would be the parts performed by Dr Hewlen, an old tired deep voice I could make little of what he said.

Historia
At the end of her best-selling memoir Eat, Pray, Love, Elizabeth Gilbert fell in love with Felipe, a Brazilian-born man of Australian citizenship who'd been living in Indonesia when they met. Resettling in America, the couple swore eternal fidelity to each other, but also swore to never, ever, under any circumstances get legally married. But providence intervened one day in the form of the United States government....

Grabbing but too personal at times
Revisado: 03-25-18
I like Elizabeth Gilbert books in general and I think like her in many ways but perhaps this was too personal for me in that I've already come to peace with marriage and I have completely different reasons for it and a totally different perspective so I would only recommend it to those who are struggling with the idea of marriage or are recently married yet unsure. It's always enjoyable to listen to Elizabeth Gilbert though.
