This book was pretty good, but definitely a lot of cliche moments and corny forced situations. I prefer when they’re a bit more realistic and less predictable.

Eye opening and humbling

This isn’t the type of book I typically read or listen to. It was highly recommended so I gave it a shot, and I’m so glad I did. The story by itself is shocking and moving. But I’m also impressed with how the author provided just the right amount of detail for the reader to understand what life was like at that time. I’ve been recommending this book to all of my friends and family. I think it should be included as mandatory reading in classrooms.
