A good dog tale

As a positive dog trainer I don’t agree with use of training collars and the quick snapping of same as a correction of unwanted dog behavior. That and the sometimes overdone rework of the plot by the characters are the only two things I would recommend changing.

The whiny main characters

Towards the middle of the book I was over the two main characters. The whiny dialogue got to be too much. Maybe if the story was shorter it would not have been so bad. I was tempted to just quit listening, but I paid for it and listened to the end. I don’t think I will continue with this series as I am sure then next one will be written in a similar manner.

Great series but!

I read or listen to fiction because it gets me away from all the bullshit in life. I really loved these characters and the story only to have it ruined by the author’s personal political views. Even if I agreed with him this was not the place to express it. Right a non-fiction book if you want to vent your political beliefs.
I also felt the ending was just thrown together because he knew it was the end of this series. Very anticlimactic and poorly done. I will not be reading any other books from this author.

Not bad but could get better.

The story was okay for the most part. I got very tired of Mattie’s history. Good enough for the initial background but then it got really old. Love Tempie but also the dog training part was a bit hokey. Not sure if I am interested in continuing the series. Also not a big fan of the narrator. For me it can make or break a book.

Truly if I had not ordered all 5 books together I would not have finished this series. I felt at times the author had very limited vocabulary skills as she often used the same phrases over and over again. It became very tiresome to listen to the constant negative emotions of all the characters.
