Best Book on Health and Longevity
Revisado: 04-12-23
Having read dozens of not hundreds of health books over the past 3 decades, this one stands out as the best overall. The combination of clarity and rigor, alongside so many excellent and useful frameworks for health, and the underlying sincerity of a doctor who is actively trying to extend and improve the lives of his patients, puts this book in a special place.
And then the last chapter on mental health just put it o we the top.
I couldn’t recommend more to anyone interested in living a long healthy and happy life.

Historia
For all of neuroscience's advances, we've made little progress on its biggest question: How do simple cells in the brain create intelligence? Jeff Hawkins and his team discovered that the brain uses map-like structures to build a model of the world - not just one model, but hundreds of thousands of models of everything we know. This discovery allows Hawkins to answer important questions about how we perceive the world, why we have a sense of self, and the origin of high-level thought.

Historia
You can afford anything, but not everything. We make daily decisions about how to spend money, time, energy, focus and attention – and ultimately, our life. How do we make smarter decisions? How do we think from first principles? On the surface, Afford Anything seems like a podcast about money and investing. But under the hood, this is a show about how to think critically, recognize our behavioral blind spots, and make smarter choices. We’re into the psychology of money, and we love metacognition: thinking about how to think. In some episodes, we interview world-class experts: professors, ...

Beat book on eating and not eating
Revisado: 02-18-21
This is possibly the best and most comprehensive health book I have read. And I’ve read probably too many.
While fasting is the centerpiece there is so much hear that is valuable.
If I were to recommend one health book to cover the most important aspects of health and eating this might just be it.
Amazing job Dave!

Historia
Finite games, like football or chess, have known players, fixed rules, and a clear endpoint. The winners and losers are easily identified. Infinite games, games with no finish line, like business or politics, or life itself, have players who come and go. The rules of an infinite game are changeable, while infinite games have no defined endpoint. There are no winners or losers - only ahead and behind. The question is, how do we play to succeed in the game we’re in? In this revelatory new audiobook, Simon Sinek offers a framework for leading with an infinite mindset.
