Martin Jarvis Is excellent perfoming this.

This was the first dramatization I heard of this story decades after first reading the book (on paper!) and its the one to which I compare all the later performances because to me it still holds up as the best performance and vocal characterization. I do wish Audible would restore the original album art since no one displayed on the revised cover is actually performing on it. You will not find David Tennant on this one at all because its all Martin Jarvice playing every part, so why have Tennant on the cover art.

The kind of sillyness we need today

You will want this book; You will love this book; You need this book (my ode to TikTok). I look forward to every one of Charles' stories and this one lives up to my every expectation. And Kaffer IS Gary Karkofsky. When I read the books I hear Jeffrey (especially when performing as Cindy) in my mind. These are easily within my short list of audios I would take with me on a desert island.

More is not necessarily better

When I first bought this audiobook (when it was initially released some years ago) it was "abridged" but what was there was tight. Every chapter was about as good as it possibly could be; every performance was classic. Suddenly in my library this became "The Complete Edition" and now it is bloated with incredibly slow moving and inane additional chapters that add nothing to the story and actually put me to sleep (when i allow it to run to completion). I want the "abridged" version restored to my library because "The Complete Edition" is drecht (ask Max's father what that means).

Can I get the abridged version back?

When I first bought this it was tight: every chapter and performance was first rate and when I finished it I wanted more. The “complete” edition to the abridged edition is like a Big Mac is to a filet. I want the abridged version back. I would have returned this if it was all that was available originally.

In my mind, this is Jack

I have been following Wilson stories since i first read The Adversary Series (way too long ago in 1981 when there was only one book in the series) so any time a new story appears I am there. When I heard that Kafer would be voicing Jack I had to pre-order. His performance is exactly how I hear Jack in my mind as I read the books. All I can add is "More!"

Magic, SciFy, Anti-Heros, Hot Girls

These are a few of my favorite things, and this has them all mixed with lots of pop-fiction references. Phipps and Kafer are perfect together: Phipps sets up the characters with sarcasm, and wit, then Kafer brings them to life. My favorite kind of irreverent series.

Excellent series; excellent performance

Initially I wasn't interested in the super villian anti heros genre but based upon my enjoyment of Kafer's unique performance of Gibson's Technomancer series I knew the writing and stories matched' my tastes so I gave this a try and now I am a converted fan.

Where is book #4? SIGH

Robinson and Kafer together = a home run

Well ok, maybe RC Bray is pretty good too, but when I see a Jeremy Robinson action story narrated by Kafer I don't need to read any further and I immediately add it to my cart. Kafer's voice characterization and performance brings the story to life for me. Maybe it's his "special voice" that he uses for action stories but I can see the story and the characters as I listen to his performance.

Why change narrator mid-series?

Simply the wrong choice of voice for this story. Kafer or Bray is perfect for this type of military sci-fi story. In comparison. the current narrator has the vocal characterizations reminiscent of the old AT&T Adam synthesized voice. Think WOPR’s “Want to play a game?”

Different, but I like it

I'm new to LitRPG but i like this, and the performance. I dont understand why, although there are 5 books, only the first 2 have been accompanied by audiobooks. To make the investment in the series, I will need to see more of the the audiobooks available.
