Historia
Meet the ultra-rational Dr Newton Barlow. Cool, cynical, scientific, he’s the last man you’d want to be a bridge between the living and the dead. But with his academic reputation in tatters, and nothing to lose but his few remaining marbles, the great skeptic is about to discover that the past that haunts him will be nothing compared to his ghost-ridden future.

Really Boring and Long Introduction
Revisado: 03-16-25
It took forever to get to the actual story. It weaved in and out of past and present and often I wasn’t sure if the story was in the past. This book became boring after awhile. I guess I also had a hard time understanding the British sarcasm and humor. I finally just gave up and stopped listening.

Historia
Katarina Ashowan was not made for courtly life. Sure, her father is the famous house witch of Daxaria so she was raised among majestic castles, proper manners, and royal expectations. But Kat is also a mutated witch whose power aligns predominantly with fire. She’s more comfortable riding horses or learning to fight than she is making polite conversation and wearing fancy dresses. Which is why her upcoming assignment—serving her best friend, Alina, the soon-to-be crowned Troivackian queen—is anything but ideal.

Not as good as House Witch But Not Bad
Revisado: 07-22-24
Really? The devil in the flesh? If the devil is a God he is really bad at his job. He’s acting like a subordinate and out of character for his position. I find it actually quite funny and unbelievable, even for fantasy. The world has to exist in balance and this one does not.

Historia
Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park, ER, Twister, and Westworld, had a passion project he’d been pursuing for years, ahead of his untimely passing in 2008. Knowing how special it was, his wife, Sherri Crichton, held back his notes and the partial manuscript until she found the right author to complete it: James Patterson, the world’s most popular storyteller.

The story is good but a bit unbelievable
Revisado: 07-10-24
I realize this is fiction but it seems a bit unplausable. The military chief of staff is a bit much and the main character’s luck is a bit much. The ending seemed a bit rushed like the were on deadline to get the book published. It just drops off suddenly after saving the world.

Historia
Seventeen-year-old spirit medium Emily Chambers has a problem. Actually, she has several. As if seeing dead people isn’t a big enough social disadvantage, she also has to contend with an escaped demon and a handsome ghost with a secret past. And then there’s the question of her parentage. Being born an entire year after her father’s death (yes, a year), Emily is as much a mystery as the dead boy assigned to her.

Not my cup of tea
Revisado: 12-09-23
This is a chick book, no doubt about it. If you like Harlequin books you should like it though. The plot is ok but could be written on two paperback book pages. I like her other books but this one seems more geared towards a marketing ploy to get your money by selling three books for a single story.

Historia
The quiet of a Texas night is shattered by the sounds of screeching brakes, crumpling metal and, most shockingly, rapid gunfire. The auto accident Jack Ryan Jr thought he witnessed turned out to be a professional hit. Jack may be too late to save the victim, but he’ll be damned if he’s going to let the hitters escape justice. He’s got just one lead—a meeting the victim was going to. When Jack shows up instead, he’s drawn into the seedy underbelly of a small Texas town and the cold case of a college student who vanished from its streets.

Much better than last one.
Revisado: 09-14-23
I believe Jack Sr has been president for over 10 years now. Need a new President. The chances now of a President of Jack Sr’s caliber is between slim and none. The infiltration of woke liberals in DC also is the elephant in the room that will greatly change this story in the future. It will be interesting to see how this is handled in this franchise.

Very Boring
Revisado: 07-01-23
I tried to be open minded but in the end I found the whole book redundant and boring except the last few chapters. I kept waiting for Carla and Otto to hook up but it never happened and was greatly disappointed. It would have made the book a lot more interesting.

Historia
One of the genre's favorite pairs returns in a classic fantasy short for both Riyria veterans and first-time readers. Several years have passed since the war-weary mercenary Hadrian and cynical ex-assassin Royce joined forces to start their thieves-for-hire organization better known as Riyria. Things have gone well enough for the team as they do "jobs" for various nobles throughout Elan. Usually that means stealing something, but when a young heiress asks them to steal her…well, that's a first for the pair.

Somewhat Disappointed Again
Revisado: 05-27-23
I enjoyed the overall story. Once again, a Jack Ryan Jr novel lays out a plausible and compelling story for today’s world theater of possible military conflict. There seemed to be this time though a lot of wholes in the story and the pieces of the story were forcibly placed in the story to tie events together. It’s like someone hurriedly writing and someone else hurriedly just writing details down to fix where the see issues with the story. However, they both fail at truly making the story seamless. One example is the assignation of the American scientist. You have to be told by the author that it is actually an assignation attempt on Jack Ryan Jr. I don’t think that revelation was ever brought out by the team itself. Also, there were parts of the story that go into excruciating detail that I get really board, especially in Germany. I don’t have a hard copy of the book but it seems half the book was during a two or three day stay in Germany leaving less time for the rest of the story which was the more interesting part of the story to me. I still don’t quite follow the logic of how the Chinese woman was able to set up Jack so well to take such a specific shot, and miss. How did the team find out about the scientist in the specific event in a way to compel them to be in Germany in the first place versus some other task or event? I do appreciate though the cleaner language of this book. There were no F-bombs like last time. Thank you for that.

This Is Not A Tom Clancy Novel
Revisado: 12-17-22
I thought the plot was plausible but it did not follow the history of the novels Clancy wrote. It seems to want to mimic a Marvel comic book. The reason I loved Tom Clancy novels is they were so patriotic and so positive towards Americans in general. This one takes on a very vulgar and debase view in my opinion.

Did not enjoy this book
Revisado: 11-03-22
I was really disappointed with this book. It seems the author wrote several stories of various characters and then tried to piece them together to make up the book story. They all converge at the end. The ending is like someone took a knife and just cut it off a few pages short or a deadline was approaching and just hurriedly just stopped writing in middle paragraph. The writer seems to now wanting to follow a formula. Overall, the entire Reacer character is become different from the one I came to love in the earlier works. Don’t know if I’ll buy the next one.
