Erica is perfection. I love how the character development. New people that become beloved, in part due to their imperfections and believable and lovable personalities. The narrator is coming into his own too. When the narrator changed, it was rough for me. Now I can’t imagine anyone else reading this series.

OMG! The cliffhanger…

You…RR Haywood, you did not just leave us with the ultimate cliffhanger! So now the wait begins. This is pure torment!

I absolutely love this series and the character development. I feel like I know these people. I literally have laugh at loud moments and tears at others. Anxiously awaiting the next book.

A wonderful and sad rollercoaster

I love the author’s discussion afterwards. I didn’t expect to. When she said, “I liked crying about other peoples problems.
There are times when we are in pain and we cannot access our own grief in our own body. “ This! This explains so much to me that I couldn’t explain or understand. I felt a strong bond with Susan. Maybe she’s what I want in my life or how I hope to be to someone else.

Why did I wait so long to get this book

First and foremost - how I wish I could talk like Matthew… slow yet fast and always intriguing. I didn’t space out and miss parts. I bookmarked favorite quotes. I found interesting perspectives on life, that I noted to make part of my repertoire to my daughter. It was refreshing to hear someone say out loud and to make a part of their life, the things we think but never say…. Don’t get caught - simple and genius.

Give it a chance and get past the first chapter and it’s amazing. It is really weird and annoying at first, like you’re listening to ads for something you have no idea what they’re talking about.

I’m glad I disregarded other reviews

There was another review for this book that was very condescending toward the author and narrator. Since I enjoyed the first book, I decided to give the second book a try. I’m glad I did. I don’t know why they had such an issue. The narrator did a great job. The different tones of voice to reflect a male narrative was well done. I love and hate that people get killed off that are liked. It makes for a more realistic story, as not everyone would be likely to live through a zombie apocalypse. I have over 800 books in my audible library, most are zombie books. I have heard some horrible books, this is not one.

Omg it was soooooooo good. I relistened to the first one since I've heard a few other books in between. Glad I did because I missed a lot the first time around. This one was even better. Loved it!
