Historia
For five grand a month and a million-dollar chaser, Roger Mulligan didn't care how crazy the old geezer was. All he had to do was keep Joseph Perry Shackleford alive and keep him from squandering the estate for a year. But they didn't tell him about the pixies.

I hate anomalies
Revisado: 10-12-23
When she tells Hunt that she loves him, SJM writes that Bryce has never even thought those words where Hunt was concerned. However, in the first book, before she made the drop at the gate she whispered those three words in his ear. He called her a coward as a challenge to come back to him and say them to his face. How could you forget you wrote that at such a pivotal moment? Anomalies like that breaks the entire believability of the world you are trying to create and ultimately makes me want to completely stop reading the series.

Not only do Southerners talk slowly, but sometimes the whole language is hard to understand. No one realizes that more than Memphis belle Leelee Satterfield. Watching her tackle life and love in Vermont was only the tip of the iceberg when it came to antics, charades, mischief, and romance. Now that she’s back in Memphis, and starting a new relationship with Peter, the Yankee chef from her New England inn, you’d think she’d sit back and enjoy her newly crafted life back home in Dixie. But that just wouldn’t be as much fun.

Mmmm Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm
Revisado: 02-15-22
Why do authors think that after a voice actor has given life to their characters through two books that all of a sudden they can step in and do those beloved characters any justice with their own voice? The narration was novice and reminded me of children's hour at the library. It took so much away from this book that I forgot how much I wanted to hear it. Simply put, the narration ruined this book for me and I wish I could get my credit back.

narrators make or break a story
Revisado: 01-07-20
Ugh... why is that when the first book of a series is read by a stellar narrator the rest of the series has to be read by a narrator that isn't? Is there a rule regarding that? The old bait and switch? I am having a difficult time adjusting to this narrator in comparison to the first which is making it hard to concentrate and enjoy the well written story. I find myself saying things like, " Matt doesn't sound like that" or "Duke sounds like a little boy now" and "Willie has a masculine voice". This is not going smoothly. I hope for the rest of you that you start at book two and simply skip book one.

Historia
Winter still has a firm stranglehold on the small town of Granford, and newly married orchard owner Meg Chapin is restless to begin her spring pruning and planting, while Seth busies himself with a new project of his own. But their relative peace is shattered when a gunshot breaks the winter silence, and they discover the body of a dead woman on their land. What's just as troubling is that the state police have hushed up the murder and are warning Meg not to investigate.

not for serious readers
Revisado: 02-05-19
Does Sheila Connolly not remember that in the middle of this series that Lauren quit the bank in Boston and her and Meg left things on a sour note? Now Lauren is back as if the previous events were never even written? These books are full of repetition and mistakes in the details but, this is a pretty big and obvious anomaly.

Historia
I’m a good girl. I live by a code that can’t be bent or broken. It is my duty to my family to stay innocent and pure. To marry an Italian man. The stars are already aligned. But Nikolai Kozlov re-writes my destiny with five simple words. You belong to me now. He's Russian mafiya. A thief. A skilled liar with no moral boundaries. He is everything I have been taught to hate. A man who stands for nothing. A man who takes what he wants without a second thought. And what he wanted was me.

not recommended
Revisado: 10-03-18
overly dramatic and completely unbelievable, not sure if it was the writing with it's cliche lines or the narrator with her breathy reading... I was disappointed after enjoying the beginning of this series. This was a let down. Would not recommend.
