A sad day

It is sad to hear that this will be the last time for a trip to Revalation Space. And I always loved these jaunts into an Agatha Christie style detective story in the middle of my space opera. I will look forward to any future books from Alastair Reynolds, and of course I would buy the phone book read to me by John Lee

Second read through and still love it.

I have read this twice now with a year or so in between and the story along with the narration just come together so very well. I have recommended this book to many others as an example of laying the ground work for a world to exist in.
I don't always need the same characters constantly rehashing the same adventures, but if you create a world like this, I am always hoping to hear new adventures in this world.

Lloyd James absolutely brings this book to life in an amazing effort that takes a great book and makes it art. The characters come to life and become distinct. Heinlein's best work-- a story I have revisited several times.

Let's get this part out of the way, Tim Gerard Reynolds has done an amazing job with this book and with the series. Characters are distinctive in their voices as well as the narrative voice. Simply wonderful.

The book, well, as all endings go they are tough, I think the storylines do come together and the characters do get an ending but it does feel a little rushed. I think in considering the entire saga the ending is an OK finale. I felt that the journey was very well done and it hits the target demographic.

I enjoyed the series so much I bought all three books in paperback for my wife to read so we could talk about them together.

I have had this in my library for a few years now, and I just started it Three days ago and I have powered right through it. The writing is well done and paced quite well. Narrator adds an extra bit by really bringing life to the main character.

An amazing conclusion.

I felt fulfilled at the end of this book and for a book who's characters I have spent so much time with that is the best compliment I can give. To read this book I just started and competed each book again in less than two months, I felt like I was in world with the people. Gerard Doyle does a fantastic job bringing dimension to the characters and world.
