Historia
When the great red star Calamity appeared in the sky, some believed the end had come. They were right. Calamity created the Epics: humans with incredible powers they didn't deserve. They could have saved mankind. They could have lifted us into harmony and prosperity. Instead they burned. They slaughtered. They conquered. And then they ruled. Jax has learned all of this the hard way. Orphaned at an early age, he's spent most of his childhood training to be a Reckoner - determined to find the Epics' weaknesses, unlock their secrets, and protect those of us who are still left.

Oh boy…
Revisado: 05-04-22
I am a major Brandon Sanderson fan. The man can write a story that just blows your mind. Unfortunately, it’s pretty obvious that Brandon didn’t write this book. He might have given mr. bohls his notes, but he definitely didn’t write it. It was so unbelievably predictable, none of the humor landed, and there were so many instances of “what was the point of this” when it came to character choices, I just couldn’t finish. I stopped an hour before the end, I just didn’t care. Macleod Andrews was excellent as always.

Great Finale
Revisado: 06-10-20
I was disappointed in the second book of this trilogy. I felt it was lacking in action and the lengthy dialogue often felt tedious. White redeemed himself with Genesis. Lots of action. Less talking and more doing. I was very pleased. And he wrapped it all up nicely so I wasn’t left hanging. Corbett’s performance was great. He has an easy to listen to voice. I always knew who was speaking and the characters voices were very believable. I recommend this book.

Waiting for the third book
Revisado: 04-27-20
This is the second book in what I believe is a trilogy. I have to admit I was disappointed. The first book, Ship’s Log had more action and kept me curious. Conception was eight hours of dialog. I feel like this book could have been a third the length that it was. I kept wanting them to just do something and quit discussing things. Corbett did a great job with the characters’ voices. I always knew who was speaking and they all had their own sound but White doesn’t give his characters enough of their own identity. They are all so similar. I also would have liked a better glimpse of the alien world where this story takes place. There are some descriptions but I think White could have described the world more and had the characters discuss less. All that said I am looking forward to the third book because I still think it’s a good story.

Great Story
Revisado: 12-07-19
If you are a pilot or a space nerd you will probably love this book. Lots of details about the characters’ process of flying airplanes and spacecrafts. Sometimes it became a bit much for me and I just wanted to get on with the story. The story concept was great, the writing could use some polish. That said it was good enough to keep my interest and I was disappointed when it was done, wishing the next book was done. The narrator did a great job and was a big part of why I kept listening.
I would recommend this book.

Mix of different lectures

I wish he had read this as one lecture. I got tired of the changing quality of recording and all the background music. The music was distracting and lasted way too long.

This is the best explanation of universal laws I have found. It is written from a Christian perspective that resonates with me. Having this knowledge will change the way you think and motivate you to take control of your life. I have listened to this book twice and I am going to buy the hard copy so I can reference it easier.

Historia
In Addicted to Outrage, New York Times best-selling author Glenn Beck addresses how America has become more and more divided - both politically and socially. Americans are now less accepting, less forgiving, and have lost faith in many of the country's signature ideals. They are quick to point a judgmental finger at the opposing party, are unwilling to doubt their own ideologies, and refuse to have any self-awareness whatsoever. Beck states that this current downward spiral will ultimately lead to the destruction of everything America has fought so hard to preserve.

Not what I expected
Revisado: 10-19-18
The title of this book made me curious. I’m tired of the continuous outrage on display in our country. Glenn Beck makes a compelling argument that if we don’t make some much needed changes in our way of thinking and behaving toward each other, just like an addict who destroys his life, we are going to find our country in a state of decline we won’t be able to pull out of. This book is not about tearing down the opposition. It’s about becoming civil again. It’s about learning to admit that all of us (on both sides of the isle) could be wrong. It’s about making the effort to know and love our neighbors whoever they are. This book will make you think and take a look at how much you contribute to the infection of outrage in our society. Well done. I hope people will read it and be inspired to change. I know I am.
