Great opening for a series about a middle aged want to be spy. The narrator fits the bill too with clear narration that compliments rather than over powers the storyline.

Not that stories can’t be over the top or have story lines which need suspension of belief, but, if you’re going to write a law based procedural, you need to stay within the at least some part of the probable if not the possible. As always the narrator was great and his voicing helped enormously. Get rid of the music. Totally distracting unless it was meant to distract from the flaws in the story line.

The story was fascinating. It’s well written and clearly well researched. It also gives a view into the workings of a monarchy- not necessarily that different from any family enterprise. However, speaking one’s story in the context of an interview and/or discussion is very different from reading a narrative of a story. The acceptable pauses which one might make in talking are very disconcerting when listening to an audio book.
