I'm so glad she got better
Revisado: 01-25-25
I adore Lord Peter and Bunter but this one is drab and missing some of the wonderful language.

At the height of Palm Beach’s charity ball season, Kiki Pew Fitzsimmons, a prominent member of geriatric high society, suddenly vanishes during a swank gala. Kiki Pew was a founding member of the Potussies, a group of women dedicated to supporting the President, who spends half the year at the “Winter White House” just down the road. Meanwhile, Angie Armstrong, wildlife wrangler extraordinaire, is called to the island to deal with a monster-sized Burmese python that has taken residency in a tree. But the President is focused on the disappearance of Kiki Pew.

Deja vu all over again
Revisado: 01-06-25
With his usual interlocking plots, humor and vivid description of the Florida Keys, Carl Hiaasin tells a tale that was all too realistic then, in 2020, and is happening all over again. Some of his greatest characters show up to let us know they are still around and we're not alone.

Historia
Montalbano receives an early-morning phone call, but this time it’s not Catarella announcing a murder, but a man called Riccardino, who’s dialed a wrong number and asks him when he’ll be arriving at the meeting. Montalbano, in irritation, says: “In 10 minutes." Shortly after, he gets another call, this one announcing the customary murder. A man has been shot and killed outside a bar in front of his three friends. It turns out to be the same man who called him.

Terrible narration
Revisado: 06-09-23
The story isn't too bad and gets rid of Montalbán as Camillieri was ending his writing career BUT the translation was poorly done and the narration by Grover Gardner was painful to listen to. It would have been nice to have this final installment be worthy of the author.
