Quick read (listen!)
Revisado: 02-18-25
The story was gripping and well laid out. I struggled with some of the subject matter but don’t want to give anything away. Family dynamics were an integral part of the story, some good, some bad. I liked the element of mystery (whodunnit) but figured it out before it was actually revealed. Overall I would recommend this book!

If Aaron doesn’t return soon, he will be sent back to jail.

Family Dynamics in the Midst of a Crime
Revisado: 02-04-25
Haven’t read a Turow book in a while and this one didn’t disappoint! In the early pages each of the main characters was fleshed out in a separate chapter. The whodunnit possibilities kept changing as the trial progressed. And the ending!!!!!

Historia
Meet Stephanie Plum, a bounty hunter with attitude. In Stephanie’s opinion, toxic waste, rabid drivers, armed schizophrenics, and August heat, humidity, and hydrocarbons are all part of the great adventure of living in Jersey. She’s a product of the “burg,” a blue-collar pocket of Trenton where houses are attached and narrow, cars are American, windows are clean, and (God forbid you should be late) dinner is served at six.

The characters were quirky. Being from New Jersey myself, I laughed out loud at the portrayals of Stephanie’s mother & grandmother.

Black Dahlia Solved?
Revisado: 11-18-24
Harry Bosch was largely absent from this story. His daughter Maddie stepped in to fill the void but it just wasn’t the same. Renee Ballard was as feisty and driven as ever. I listened to the book every minute that I could it was just that good!

“A Real Page Turner”
Revisado: 10-25-24
I waited for this book to be released in audio for some time. It was worth the wait! Tami Hoag has a skill in describing the surrounding landscape which makes the reader feel like they are there. Loved the main characters, Annie & Niick, the third book in this series. The narration was excellent. Listened to the story at every opportunity & it did not disappoint. Hoping for a fourth book with Annie & Nick in the near future!!!

Historia
It was a crime so brutal, it changed the lives of even the most hardened homicide cops. The Haas family murders left a scar on the community nothing can erase, but everyone agrees that convicting the killer, Karl Dahl, is a start. Only Judge Carey Moore seems to be standing in the way. Her ruling that Dahl's prior criminal record is inadmissible raises a public outcry, and puts the judge in grave danger.

Historia
In 1972, when workers in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, were digging the foundations for a new development, the last thing they expected to find was a skeleton at the bottom of a well. Who the skeleton was and how it got there were two of the long-held secrets kept by the residents of Chicken Hill, the dilapidated neighborhood where immigrant Jews and African Americans lived side by side and shared ambitions and sorrows. Chicken Hill was where Moshe and Chona Ludlow lived when Moshe integrated his theater and where Chona ran the Heaven & Earth Grocery Store.
