Path of the Berserker is to not join a sect... MC instantly joins a sect. that part really bothered me.

Spoilers ahead. The MMC is the worst kind of officer in the military. He constantly tries to be everybody's friend to the point that he just explicitly let's his subordinates do whatever they want and slack-off, and it ultimately ends up costing lives.

Then his best friend gets attacked by the enemy and he just let's them shoot him because he's afraid to kill.

I acknowledge people like this exist, but they should be scorned for letting their men and comrades down. I have zero interest in reading the rest of this story.

The romance aspect is reasonably well executed, but it's overshadowed by the fact that I would spend the rest of the book hoping thlover. (the FMC) ditches this pathetic loser.

I like Bastion. I'd give it a strong 6.5/10, but I never "loved" Bastion like others seem too. This however, it's next level definitely in my top 10, and my favorite book in months. so excited to read the next 2.

A great period piece. I truly loved it. The American narrator was a little jarring. I think I would have preferred a British woman. Or even better, a British female narrator and an American male. Regardless, it was well executed excepting a couple minor hicoughs.

I admit I'm not quite at the end, but I didn't want my opinion to be too colored by the ending. Hope it doesn't end sad.

SPOILERS:

Everything about the book is as good as the last one, but the legendary hatchling dragon is so disappointing. Every dragon we've met has been so great, except the most important one: Arthur's dragon. He's a horrible character, the type of person that literally everyone hates.

A dangerous psychopathic and narcissist with literally no self-control, no sense of empathy, that wants to hurt and dominate everyone. Just a crappy person all around that nobody should like. I certainly don't owe him

Every other baby dragon is adorable and cute, meanwhile this thing has the voice of a 60 year old smoker (not the narrator's fault, this is how his voice is described) and acts like an adult. No way in hell I'm reading another book about this horrible creature.

Really just a huge disappointment. Why?

This is my favorite Progression Fantasy/LitRPG series, and this is the best book by far. I really didn't expect such a good ending, but it really came around in the end.

This is the best harem novel I've read all yeah. Easily the Mason's best work. He's slowly improved as a writer, especially in dialogue and character development.

Hilarious, creative, and touching with a cathartic ending. Surprisingly deep compared to my initial impressions.

"The fuel was f***ing the cove up badly."

A motorcycle carries 5 gallons of gas, and this is apparently enough to poison the ocean enough to kill fish... THE OCEAN. This just violates common sense.

Dragon's Justice is my favorite harem (audio) book

This is easily my favorite harem series. Every aspect of it is stellar, but the best part by far is the romance. Bruce Sentar us a romance specialist, which is surprisingly rare in this genre. The characters and relationships are deeply satisfying, each with their own quirks and complexities.

The world is great. The one weak point is that the political aspect is a little predictable and doesn't cover much new ground, but it's still well executed. The highpoint as far as worldbuilding goes is the races and their interactions. Yes, it has your standard Shifters and vampires, but honestly that's exactly what I wanted. The kitsuni and sirens were a great touch though.

The fight scenes are well choreographed, and paint a vivid picture, and the MC, while strong and on the path to being well overpowered, is really held back by his inexperience and youth. It's clear that he's a small fry in this world, and the stakes in this first book are dire, but very localized to the city. This means there is a ton of room for the MC. his enemies, his harem, and the story to scale up to inevitably epic scales.

Some particular details on the tropes: harem is growing at a rate of 1.33 girls pet book through the first few books, so it doesn't become unwieldy. The MC is strong physically and in personality with a dominant side. Though he's ruthless to his enemies, he's not an asshole to his allies and is very gentle and loving with his girls (though in the bedroom it's often a different story).

The narrators did a great job. I honestly didn't even notice them much, which was a great thing because it kept me well immersed. I think the main narrator may be a little new, because there were some times with unexpected inflections (that are slightly of from the textual context), but that was maybe 4 or 5 times through the whole book, so I had no issue with it. He makes up for it by matching the voice of the character in my head, so he overcomes the apparent lack of experience.

Altogether, my favorite harem book/audiobook. Just amazing.
