Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

fantastic utilization of language
Revisado: 08-30-21
Matthew McConaughey speaks in such a way where you're more interested in having a beer with him and yearning to learn more of the details than you are to actually listen to the book, however, you can't get rid of it because the story slides and eases so easily into other facets of the story that you are sucked into continue listening. This is a really surprising book as I think we often look at celebrities as egotistical Psychopaths and Rich naysayers who live in a bubble world- however McConaughey lives life and describes it eloquently in such a way where its lessons are relevant to the common man

It isn't about Mallory as much as it is about us
Revisado: 10-13-20
I'm not sure what I expected going into this, I knew the premise of what I was getting into but not the bread and butter of it. Mallory's philosophy was never what kept me intrigued or involved in this book, rather, it was her ability to articulate the human condition through her own perspective which resonated most clearly with me. We are all faced with choices every single day...which to each of us (through our own distorted lense) lends us the opportunity to see the world the way we choose to see it, and Mallory exemplified this concept. The details of her suffering struck me as I drove from Florida back to Virginia. I wondered to myself how I would reflect on my life in my dying moments and if I had lived one worthy of self praise or if i would be consumed by self pity. My hope is that I can be as Mallory was and leave this place better than I found it and go out only thinking of others well-being. Mallory wrote in a way where-as the book was less about her reflection of herself as it was a message to the reader to consider each of our own positions in this mega universal puzzle we call life, and to live it more fully, more whole, more lovingly. I felt as though Mallory wrote in a way where the reader pr listener was connected to her, as a friend rather than an audience member. I am grateful for this reflection.

The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

absolutely phenomenal book
Revisado: 09-03-20
This book is both awe inspiring and mesmerizing at the same time. A strong case made for necessary suffering in a world of conformity and comfort and the role it plays in our personal development. outstanding all around

Make more money? Really? Oh yea! Almost every selling strategy that every coffee bar owner tries, to advertise, to market, and to attract paying customers is ineffective, costly, and wrong. Almost every penny that every coffee bar owner spends to attract paying customers is wasted; you might as well toss your money down the drain with this morning's used coffee grounds.

Unique marketing ideas
Revisado: 11-12-19
if you are a small business, let alone a small coffee shop/bake shop oriented business, this audible is worth the credit or purchase. It presented unique ideas on it's own as well as spurred my natural creative process as well. Great listen.
