Historia
Lizzie is trying to live her life. After an emotionally abusive relationship leaves her shaken, she’s moved on from dating. For good. In fact, she’d happily embrace the crazy cat lady lifestyle if her apartment would let her get away with it. So, when her ex starts stalking her, she’s at a loss of what to do. Then she comes up with a plan. One that couldn’t possibly work. It’s only one fake date. What could possibly go wrong?

Brilliantly performed story of love overcoming abuse
Revisado: 03-21-25
I really enjoyed this story of a lady trying to overcome an abusive relationship. The ex won’t leave her alone. A spur of the moment plan to stay safe brings unexpected consequences.
As well written as this short story was, (very well written!) I must say the true treasure was the narration of Lauren Hilary! Just, Wow! Her expert use of voices and easy conversational style really brought this story to life! I will without a doubt be looking for more of her work!

Well thought out story of the future
Revisado: 03-21-25
I really enjoyed Assist. It’s a story about the future but it was so well planned out and detailed that I had to remind myself several times that this wasn’t a documentary. Very well written.
And the narrator! Wow! Fantastic! She really brought the story alive. I would enjoy listening to more of her work!

Historia
We live in a world where identity often feels like a performance, where the pressure to conform and meet expectations can strip us of our true selves. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been caught in that web, feeling the weight of what society wanted me to be. I had the career, the success, the outward image of someone who had it all together. But deep down, I knew something was missing. I was living a life built on what others thought I should be, instead of who I really was.

Break out of your personal prison
Revisado: 01-23-25
Many people find themselves in a personal prison. For some it may be living up to an image that you feel needs to be maintained. For some it may be a toxic relationship that you feel you can’t escape. For some it may be expectations that others have set for you that you feel you must meet.
The author has introduced us to three individuals who are living in personal prisons and what it took for them to break out. Each one is relatable and helpful.
The narrator has a very pleasant voice and is a pleasure to listen to! I would love to hear more of her work!

Hunting Witches
Revisado: 01-21-25
Men are being kidnapped, tortured and left for dead. Three Hunters are called in because some kind of monster is suspected. Hunters intervene when humans are being hurt or killed. These hunters however have issues with each other. Two harbor a secret attraction for each other but try to hide it. They all easily annoy each other. Can they work together well enough to solve the case? Or will their interpersonal conflict cause them to be targeted and fall into the murderers trap as well?
This was an entertaining and interesting story. Very enjoyable. And I must say the narrator was phenomenal! I loved her different voices for each character. She was a delight to listen to her and I will definitely be watching for more books narrated by Lauren Hilary!

Opposite forces collide
Revisado: 01-18-25
Summer, a free spirit, fun loving widow watches as Mr. Winter, a meticulous, hard working widow struggles to park his huge, newly purchased camper into the camping spot across from hers. She’s here by choice. He’s here because he recently recovered from his second heart attack and was given the choice by his daughter to either get away from work and take a vacation, or her, her husband and two boys are moving in with him. Will these two opposite forces stir up a storm? Or will they each find something they need?
This was a terrific book! I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn’t stop listening.
The narrator did a phenomenal job of bringing the characters to life. I will definitely be looking for more books narrated by Wendy.
Trust me, you want to know what happens when Winter meets Summer!

Revealing and sad story. Excellent performance
Revisado: 01-17-25
I was very interested to learn about this lady’s hard life. I think it’s an important story to hear. I sincerely hope the best for her. This story shines the light on prostitution and shows the desperation that often leads to it as well as how difficult a life it is and the toll it takes on the women.
The narrator did a phenomenal job and was a delight to listen to! I will be looking for more of her work.

The revelation of a well concealed mystery
Revisado: 05-29-23
If it’s written by Kate Morton, it gets my attention! Kate writes with great detail. She has multiple, well developed characters and masterfully reveals them along with the intricate mystery, while weaving through time. From the present to different times in the past. Each chapter slowly revealing what really happened and why.
I started this book and then put it aside to listen to a couple of other books for various reasons. But then I returned to this one and I’m glad I did. I binged the last 3 hours of it because it just captivated me. I would say “ah, this must have happened. No, maybe this happened. Wait… oh!”
I’m a narrator myself and always listen to other narrators with interest and attention. Caroline Lee does a wonderful job of bringing this story to life. She was a pleasure to listen to and fit the tone of the story very well. If I’m considering listening to a book and see that it’s narrated by Caroline Lee, I will listen.

Historia
At the dawn of the 20th century, a great confidence suffused America. Isaac Cline was one of the era's new men, a scientist who believed he knew all there was to know about the motion of clouds and the behavior of storms. The idea that a hurricane could damage the city of Galveston, Texas, where he was based, was to him preposterous, "an absurd delusion." It was 1900, a year when America felt bigger and stronger than ever before. Nothing in nature could hobble the gleaming city of Galveston, then a magical place that seemed destined to become the New York of the Gulf.
