Historia
How do you tell your part in the biggest tale in history? I ask because it's what I have to do. I'm Zoe Boutin Perry: A colonist stranded on a deadly pioneer world. Holy icon to a race of aliens. A player (and a pawn) in a interstellar chess match to save humanity, or to see it fall. Witness to history. Friend. Daughter. Human. Seventeen years old. Everyone on Earth knows the tale I am part of. But you don't know my tale: How I did what I did—how I did what I had to do—not just to stay alive but to keep you alive, too.

Wonderful Sci fi!
Revisado: 04-03-25
Author understands teenagers & writes amazing Sci fi! The multiple intelligent species were portrayed so well! The message of family love & adoption was a nice touch as well! The message of friendship was great as well!
Loved everything in this book! That would include the excellent audio performance!

Amazing Book About Modern Fighter Pilots
Revisado: 01-18-24
Lions Of The Sky gives a modern twist to naval aviation. It is very well written with relatable characters. I think the story line is great. It is focused on a somewhat older pilot and weapons officer… and a great deal on 2 female pilots pilots and their challenges. The book was written a few years ago so I would hope a lot of those sexist problems have been aliviated by now. I would have two suggestions: At least one of the pilots in the squadron should have been married. And I felt like the book could do without so many “F-bombs.” Other than that I would say the book is perfect. It really is worth the read for military aviation enthusiasts!

A classic
Revisado: 07-04-23
This is a great prequel and it is well read by Scott Brick. I have both read and listened to this book before. I also love the next prequel that was written just before Asimov died. These prequels kind of feel autobiographical!

Historia
There are few moments in American history in which the course of events tipped so suddenly and so dramatically as at the Battle of Midway. At dawn of June 4, 1942, a rampaging Japanese navy ruled the Pacific. By sunset, their vaunted carrier force (the Kido Butai) had been sunk and their grip on the Pacific had been loosened forever. In this absolutely riveting account of a key moment in the history of World War II, one of America's leading naval historians, Craig L. Symonds, paints an unforgettable portrait of ingenuity, courage, and sacrifice.

Victorious is a great ending to the Lost Fleet series
Revisado: 08-24-22
I loved this book. It skillfully finished the Lost Fleet series. This whole series is incredibly creative and fun to read. I particularly liked the more realistic science of space travel in this series. I heard that there are spin-off series as well. I will listen to them as well as soon as I re-listen to The Lost Fleet series!

Historia
Civil war looms in the Bobiverse in this brand-new, epic-length adventure by Audible number one best seller Dennis E. Taylor. More than a hundred years ago, Bender set out for the stars and was never heard from again. There has been no trace of him despite numerous searches by his clone-mates. Now Bob is determined to organize an expedition to learn Bender’s fate - whatever the cost. But nothing is ever simple in the Bobiverse. Bob’s descendants are out to the 24th generation now, and replicative drift has produced individuals who can barely be considered Bobs anymore.

Best of the series!
Revisado: 06-24-22
I have read reviews that said “Heaven’s River” was the weakest book in the Bobiverse series. I absolutely disagree. I thought it was the very BEST book in the series! When it ended I felt sad & hopeful that the series will continue. But if it doesn’t, this was a great last book!

The epic and highly anticipated conclusion to the listener-favorite series that had countless Audible listeners (and employees) hooked from the very first Bob - featuring, as always, a flawless performance from the inimitable Ray Porter. Being a sentient spaceship really should be more fun. But after spreading out through space for almost a century, Bob and his clones just can't stay out of trouble. They've created enough colonies so humanity shouldn't go extinct.

Incredible Sci Fi Novel Trilogy
Revisado: 06-07-22
I have so enjoyed this series! As someone who is a science and sci fi geek I can highly recommend this series! There are casual references to Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, E. R. Burroughs’ Mars series, Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series etc. etc. The references always made me smile. The story itself is so well written and it has plot twists I didn’t see coming. The science part of it is also really well done. I have a heavy science background in several areas of science so I understood and enjoyed it all. I also have a psychology and philosophy background which helped with the human (& non-human) interactions.
The audible recordings were really well performed as well!

Well Written War Story
Revisado: 04-07-22
This book is a fictional account of the Battle of Midway, but it is closely based on fact and even on what is known about different participants personalities.
The audio performance was VERY well done as well! The book was, I think, respectful of both the Americans and the Japanese.
Overall I really enjoyed this book. All the Jeff Shasta books that I’ve read have been excellent!
