Historia
In present-day California, Eleanor Bennett’s death leaves behind a puzzling inheritance for her two children, Byron and Benny: a black cake, made from a family recipe with a long history, and a voice recording. In her message, Eleanor shares a tumultuous story about a headstrong young swimmer who escapes her island home under suspicion of murder. The heartbreaking tale Eleanor unfolds, the secrets she still holds back, and the mystery of a long-lost child challenge everything the siblings thought they knew about their lineage and themselves.

I would recommend this book to anyone. I couldn’t stop listening to it. It came full circle at the end. Even when you wondered about characters they were forgotten. Excellent read.

Phenomenal
Revisado: 10-06-23
I didn’t know what to expect when I started listening to his book, but there were a lot of things that I had to look up people I never heard of before situation I had never heard of before, and I had to learn some things. So when I say his book enlighten me to his own family struggles and those of his peers around him he did just that. I’ll recommend his book to anyone and I will probably buy it so I can make my notes on the side margin.

Historia
In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever. This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.

This book was recommended to me and Viola did not disappoint! I loved her book and I’ll probably listen to it again. To rise like a phenomenal phoenix is commendable.
