Historia
Henshaw Tarley has been subdued, and New Valley is now all mine to develop! My plans are clear. First, I need to secure alchemical ingredients for Cynthia, my resident alchemist, so we can start making and selling potions. Second, I must find a wand maker to broaden the range of items we offer in the shop. Then, there's the issue of that magical tattoo parlor I want to set up… For that, I will need someone to teach me the basics of tattooing so I can gain a rank or two and make full use of my new ability.

The economy of the town must be inflationary
Revisado: 05-07-24
I think the author has gives good bones to the story line, but loses balance in some of the details, what, no one takes copper or silver in this village, the amount of money the character pays is unheard of, he has the main character, artimus, needing money, but pays a road bandit gold to stop vandalizing the area. crazy. I've gone through the first three books, but at some points I really need to push though the nonsense to get to the next plot. He aids in killing a dragon and in all the hoard he only gets back what he paid the dragon, he is suppose to be a merchant but his skills in bargaining needs more polish. This is why the story body needs more depth and consistency.

one of the best trilogy, a keeper.

The author really out did himself on this one. I loved each book, each book had stories lined within that could've ended the book in mystery but the author went beyond that point to another. The narration was skillfully performed and added richness to the overall story line. finally in the end, the author wrote so as to not reveal a preconceived ending but a surprise and even beyond that a bigger surprise. action suspense, romance, mystery, love ,hate , honor and greed, all blended together to give a listener's dream experience. ..I loved it.

what an anticlimactic ending
Revisado: 03-19-18
During the entire first two books there were pockets of excitement and intrigue about the chase, the back stories of the gods, the love and budding love of the main characters, but at the end, when the gods returned the sacrifice back to the heroes, the author left a void of questions as to how they would greet their love ones, or how the kingdoms would react to their return, the ending left too many unanswered questions thus leaving the reader unfulfilled.

Historia
Mankind has lorded over the land of Illian for a thousand years, building on the ruins left by the elves, as if it were their birthright. A thousand years is a long time for an immortal race to see the truth of things, a truth that has remained unsaid for a millennium - elves are superior. They are faster, stronger, and connected to the magical realm in a way that man could never grasp. Illian should belong to them.

This is a keeper.
Revisado: 01-11-18
This book, since the book one is my favorite. the author really added layer of intrigue in the characters that turned the philosophy of good /bad upside down. He webbed the notion of godhood into a strong character of an ancient being, turned foes into allies and made each character look within themselves to question their own values and morals. with the value established by the people of the land, the author comb out a new power built on ideas and thoughts, I enjoyed the spread of success, defeat and lost that the narrator made lifelike in his vivid voice tone portrayal of the priests, the god and other characters that enriched the storyline. In short, it had just enough violence, just enough mystery, just enough thought provoking notions with just the right amount of comedy to give it balance. This is a keeper to anyone's library, can't wait until the next book.

very fresh
Revisado: 08-04-17
I found the warrior's views of the outside world fresh and intriguing, his adjustment from his training life to his new world was also an interesting ride with him and his growth, however, the author's revealed to us his keen intelligence in problem solving as well as adapting to future conflicts compared with how he (the author)allowed the warrior to rely so often on his dealing with the affairs of the heart ,ie, his assumed so much about the word "friend" that he never asked questions about its perimeters, but his false assumptions lead him into a proposal that he didn't expect nor wanted and everyone now assume wrongly that his reasons are true . I find this paradox unhealthy.
