Narration by a mountain man who lived in the 1800s. Gives you a great perspective of his experiences with trapping and dealing with the Indians.

What did you love best about The Liberator?

The book describes the depressing horrors of war, and it was hard at times to hear about how hard it was--for both Allies and Germans. I found the story of General Sparks and his experience of WWII ultimately inspiring and worth reading. You really get a sense of what it was like for him and the soldiers under his command. I had not heard of him before this book, and realize now what a great general and leader he was. My father was on the front lines in Europe and although toward the end of his life I was eventually able to get him to open up and share some of his experiences, this book really made it more clear to me just how tough it was for him. I have a new appreciation for the men and women who fought in that war.

If you could sum up Tune In Tokyo in three words, what would they be?

Humorous, engaging, fun

What does MacLeod Andrews bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Andrews really has a great sense of timing and seemed to "get" the humor of the author. He made the ride more fun.

Any additional comments?

Takes you on the author's journey as a gay American in Japan. I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it, but found the story interesting and quite often would just burst out laughing while listening. I went away with a greater appreciation of and respect for Japanese culture. Tim Anderson is refreshingly transparent. I enjoyed his life adventure.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I loved the two Vince Flynn books before this one. " Extreme Measures" was gripping but also a little frustrating and left me unsatisfied. I'm old fashioned in that I want good to triumph over evil. The bad guys seemed to be mostly winning throughout the story. Perhaps the author is trying to make a statement about the future dangers of terrorism in this country, which I can appreciate. Right after this book I read Ben Coes' "Power Down." Many similarities in the two stores, but that one was more complete, satisfying, and even inspiring for me. Both books are very relevant for what we may face in our country in the future. "Power Down was a better read for me.

If you could sum up Wild in three words, what would they be?

Honest, sincere, inspiring

What did you like best about this story?

Her self-honesty, ability to persevere. It was an real life adventure story, but also a journey of self-understanding and emotional healing.

What does Bernadette Dunne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She was able to capture the feeling of the book. I really felt like it was the author reading the book rather than someone else.
