Historia
In his first groundbreaking book, Dr. William Li explored the world of food as medicine. By eating foods that you already enjoy, like tomatoes, blueberries, sourdough bread, and dark chocolate your body activates its five health defense systems to fight cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular, neurodegenerative autoimmune diseases, and other debilitating conditions.

Extremely tedious
Revisado: 01-20-24
I found this book to be extremely tedious and boring with a vast array of irrelevant scientific information.

Historia
Galapagos takes the listener back one million years to AD 1986. A simple vacation cruise suddenly becomes an evolutionary journey. Thanks to an apocalypse, a small group of survivors stranded on the Galapagos Islands are about to become the progenitors of a brave, new, totally different human race. Kurt Vonnegut, America's master satirist, looks at our world and shows us all that is sadly, madly awry - and all that is worth saving.

Quintessential Vonnegut
Revisado: 09-16-21
If you enjoy Vonnegut you will certainly enjoy the story. I love the return of Kilgore Trout and his son Leon. For me, the story was very much like a musical worm that you can't get out of your head. There are parts of the book that kept popping into my consciousness in numerous unexpected places.
A special note on the narrator, Jonathan Davis, he is absolutely phenomenal. Of the numerous audible books that I have listen to he is by far and away the best narrator I have heard.

An eye opening story of religion gone bad
Revisado: 04-04-20
A very personal and insightful look at Scientology. I was captivated by the story which was not enhanced by the continuous spray of F bombs.

The Mongol army led by Genghis Khan subjugated more lands and people in 25 years than the Romans did in 400. In nearly every country the Mongols conquered, they brought an unprecedented rise in cultural communication, expanded trade, and a blossoming of civilization.

Fantastic research and writing

Where does Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Genghis Khan, although a brutal conqueror, created the foundations of a civil society that established religious freedom, diversity of culture and a system of laws to serve all people regardless of status or wealth.
This is a history of the modern world that we should all be aware of, although, few if any are. You will discover that Genghis Khan was the greatest leader the world is ever known.
Fantastic book.

Historia
"My goal in this series, in addition to illuminating the patterns of women's and men's uses of language, is to enhance understanding of how language works in everyday life. I am told by students who have taken my courses that this understanding helps them in their everyday lives, as every aspect of our lives involves talking to people of the other sex - in our personal relationships, our families, at work, and in trying to get just about anything done."

What did you love best about The Modern Scholar?
if there was only one audiobook that I could recommend for every husband and wife and every parent it would be this one. Understanding the foundations of language and communication from childhood to the adult is a powerful tool that each and every one of us need in order for all of us to be better partners and parents.
Deborah Tannen's course on how men and women develop their communicative styles is truly an eye-opener and continually engaging throughout.
