Historia
When a high-flying adman is stabbed to death on a company weekend in the English Lake District, local detective Daniel Skelgill finds himself wrenched from his rural Cumbrian comfort zone. As the investigation unfolds, DI Skelgill is led a merry dance between London and Edinburgh, at every turn confronted by uncooperative suspects—colleagues, wife and lovers of the deceased—each of whom is possessed of motive and opportunity. Is this a crime of passion, a professional hit, or a cleverly calculated killing borne out of greed and jealousy?

On a hot July morning on Sweden's idyllic vacation island of Sandhamn, a man takes his dog for a walk and makes a gruesome discovery: a body, tangled in fishing net, has washed ashore. Police detective Thomas Andreasson is the first to arrive on the scene. Before long, he has identified the deceased as Krister Berggren, a bachelor from the mainland who has been missing for months. All signs point to an accident - until another brutalized corpse is found at the local bed-and-breakfast.

fabulous all around fabulous
Revisado: 11-01-16
What did you love best about Harbour Street?
Cleeves develops her characters bit by bit scene by scene, as one composes a painting in layers of paint.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Vera is full bodied and full of surprises. She seems at once brilliant and stumbling, as any real human inspector might be.
The narrator pulled me into the places, sets, intimate or public. I loved her sound.
Any additional comments?
I was not sure I would find the audio interesting as I have watched all the Vera series on DVD, but it is one I will listen to again both for the writing and the reading.
