The entire book is so believable and relatable. Love the authentic approach Chioma takes in her writing. I want to read it again!! I also appreciated the different accents displayed in this audio version.

Historia
Nearing the age of forty, with an entire life already lived as a woman, Miles Borrero comes face to face with his father’s impending death. Suddenly realizing he has been stalling his transition for fear of losing his family’s love, this moment catalyzes Miles’s determination to be known as his father’s son. In Beautiful Monster, Miles chronicles his unusual childhood, by turns riveting and hilarious, in ’80s and ’90s Colombia during the Pablo Escobar years, as well as his move to Salt Lake City to pursue acting and the winding trajectory that eventually lands him in New York City.

Raw and Authentic
Revisado: 12-17-23
I really enjoyed listening to Camilo’s book and his journey. It was so authentically written and his mastery of the English language is unmatched. I’m so glad he is finally able to live the life he wants, with acceptance from his parents. Such a beautiful book.

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Loved it!

This book captivated me from the intro. So uniquely written and I loved all of the connections made throughout. Elizabeth Zot is such a unique character. Love the way Bonnie provided appropriate closure at the end.
