Historia
On a hot August night, Lt. Eve Dallas and her husband, Roarke, speed through the streets of Manhattan to the Down and Dirty club, where a joyful, boisterous pre-wedding girls’ night out has turned into a murder scene. One of the brides lies in a pool of blood, garroted in a private room where she was preparing a surprise for her fiancée—two scrimped and saved-for tickets to Hawaii. Despite the dozens of people present, useful witnesses are hard to come by. It all brings back some bad memories for Eve.

Disappointed
Revisado: 01-02-25
I have read and/or listened to all 59 books in this series multiple times. It is my go to background for work, driving, etc. I was so disappointed in this book! It just didn't seem like a J.D. Robb book! It seemed to go on and on in the same dialog for hours. I will try it again in a year or so, but of all this wonderful series, it just left me flat.

The chic Manhattan nightspot Du Vin is not the kind of place Eve Dallas would usually patronize, and it's not the kind of bar where a lot of blood gets spilled. But that's exactly what happens one cold February evening.

Best series ever
Revisado: 04-16-19
The characters are like old friends and the narrator is so good, anyone else pales. I have listened to them all 3 times now.

Historia
The shots came quickly, silently, and with deadly accuracy. Within seconds, three people were dead at Central Park's ice skating rink. The victims: a talented young skater, a doctor, and a teacher. As random as random can be. Eve Dallas has seen a lot of killers during her time with the NYPSD, but never one like this. After reviewing security videos, it becomes clear that the victims were killed by a sniper firing a tactical laser rifle, who could have been miles away when the trigger was pulled.

The Best Yet
Revisado: 10-08-16
As I finish the series for the 3rd time, I think this may be the best yet. Hats off to J D Robb for continuing to make the characters meaningful and the stories entrancing.

Could not finish
Revisado: 04-18-13
Would you try another book from Nora Roberts and/or Tom Stechschulte?
The southern accents were so bad that I could not even finish, and I love Nora Roberts. I decided to read the book instead.
How could the performance have been better?
The accents were way over the top, and I have lived in several areas of the south.
