Historia
Everyone from Wakarusa, Indiana, remembers the infamous case of January Jacobs, who was discovered in a ditch hours after her family awoke to find her gone. Margot Davies was six at the time, the same age as January—and they were next-door neighbors. In the twenty years since, Margot has grown up, moved away, and become a big-city journalist. But she’s always been haunted by the feeling that it could’ve been her. And the worst part is, January’s killer has never been brought to justice.

Great, chilling debut!
Revisado: 11-09-24
I’m a fan of Ashley’s podcast, Crime Junkie so I was excited to hear she had written a mystery novel and boy did she knock it out of the park with her debut. This story had me on the edge of my seat and just when I thought I had it figured out, she threw in another little twist. This one gave me all the chills and I loved every minute of it! I’m looking forward to her next novel. The premise already has me intrigued.

Good but predictable
Revisado: 10-17-24
This was my first by this author. It was a good story but I figured out the twist kinda early. It seemed obvious to me or maybe that’s how it was supposed to be. I don’t know but I am interested in listening or reading more of this author’s work.

Historia
Iris and Gabriel have just arrived home from a make-or-break holiday. But a shock awaits them. One of their closest friends, Laure, is in their house. The atmosphere quickly becomes tense as she oversteps again and again: sleeping in their bed, wearing Iris' clothes, even rearranging the furniture. Laure has walked out on her husband—and their good friend—Pierre, over his confession of an affair and a secret child. Iris and Gabriel want to be supportive of their friends, but as Laure's mood becomes increasingly unpredictable, her presence takes its toll.

Just meh…
Revisado: 04-27-24
It was just okay to me. The narrator was a bit too dramatic at times and the overall plot wasn’t that thrilling. I would’ve thought the twist would’ve come a little sooner than it actually did. The epilogue seemed like a big information dump to wrap the story up.

This one was just okay to me. The story was good but the ending was kinda confusing. I needed more of an understanding of why. It fell a little flat for me.

Good introduction to La Jill Hunt
Revisado: 06-29-21
This was my first introduction to this author and it won’t be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed Devyn’s story and her evolution throughout. She went from broken and self doubt to confident and self assured. It was a good lesson that our pasts don’t define us. We can preserve and succeed. The only thing I didn’t like was how it ended. I hate cliffhangers. But I’m looking forward to catching up with these characters in a future book. Hopefully, that won’t be too long.

MEH
Revisado: 12-02-20
I didn’t too much care for the main character, Sophie or whatever her name was. She came off as bitchy, self-centered and judgmental. I understood she felt some kind of way about her loss but it was like she was trying to micromanage how others were supposed to feel also. The story just didn’t do it for me.
