Very dark did not like the ending
Revisado: 11-11-24
Although this book was written by one of my favorite authors, and the narrator did a great job, I did not like the protagonist and I did not like the ending. I felt that it was very dark and very sad. The ending left me unsettled. I figured out who was the killer about halfway through the book, but I still found the ending disturbing.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Wonderful story full of surprises
Revisado: 01-19-19
You will love this story of love and survival. Kya is one of my favorite characters. She is abandoned as a child and learns to survive on her own. Bullied and made to feel as an outcast she learns lessons from a few who love her. The narrator has a soft voice and reads the descriptions of the marsh in a melodious tone. It’s worth listening to this book!

Love story of Auschwitz
Revisado: 12-18-18
This is a story of deep love between two people during one if history’s horrific times. I found a few parts unbelievable but it is a story worth listening to. Love...is love...is love.
I also enjoy listening to Richard Armitage.
