Historia
When Brion Bayard was kidnapped and brought to the alternate world where Earth's history took a different turn, it was not a pleasant experience. It was, however, a startling experience. Here was a world that was just like the Earth he was taken from--with just a few subtle changes. On top of all this, Brion was given a puzzling assignment by his captors. He was to secretly enter a palace, and kill a dangerous and tyrannical dictator. There was one, small catch--the hated dictator in this world was the mirror image of Brion Bayard.

Revisado: 02-10-21
Why is this even in the scifi section? This is a crime-noir detective novel. The crime-noir part is wordy and devoid of action. It would be considered a mediocre 40s pulp novel at best (I doubt). The "sci fi" part of this novel is a premise that is laughably inconsistent. The author cant even develop a halfway decent story for this idea that makes sense or a story. Dont waste your time.

Historia
The members of the Polaris Project knew what they were giving up when they volunteered to fly to the star named Angel-21, but the allure of being the first explorers to leave the Solar System far outweighed the risks. As it turned out, the most dangerous thing they faced wasn't the mission, it was the homecoming. Eight hundred years have passed, and Earth is nothing like they thought it would be.

Not a bad story. Interactions are a bit stretched. But I enjoyed it. oh, by the way, "gauss" is pronounced to rhyme with "mouse". Not "gauze". Thank you.

Excellent story, different spin. I'd never heard of this book, but I enjoyed it enough for a one nite listen. R.I.P. Jack Williamson, Ive enjoyed every book of yours that I've ever read. A truly unique American author and thinker.
