Enjoyable
Revisado: 08-13-23
True I don’t think this is his best of the series but I enjoyed it. And unlike others his kids bring a parallel to the book. He coaches basketball and his daughter excels. Things happen to his sons. And more.
Not every book can be stellar. I feel this version was needed to get to the next.

Historia
Sage Winters always knew her sister was a little different even though they were identical twins. They loved the same things and shared a deep understanding, but Rosemary—awake to every emotion, easily moved to joy or tears—seemed to need more protection from the world. Six years after Rosemary's death from pneumonia, Sage, now sixteen, still misses her deeply. Their mother perished in a car crash, and Sage's stepfather, Alan, resents being burdened by a responsibility he never wanted.

A little long…hard to put down
Revisado: 12-30-22
While this is a novel, places like Willowbrook have shown up in the US such as Samarcan (sp?) in NC. This book doesn’t drag but it is long. And yet I finished it and it continues to make me think.

Historia
Nora Pennington, the owner of Miracle Books, believes that a well-chosen novel can bring healing and hope. But she and the rest of the members of the Secret, Book, and Scone Society know that, sometimes, practical help is needed, too. Such is the case with the reed-thin girl hiding in the fiction section of Nora's store, wearing a hospital ID and a patchwork of faded bruises. She calls herself Abilene, and, although Nora and her friends offer work, shelter, and a supportive ear, their guest isn't ready to divulge her secrets.

Why was this written
Revisado: 09-05-22
I have always enjoyed this series from beginning until this one book. And then it is as if a steel door stole all the good moments and slammed them shut. I wish I hadn’t bought it. A library book you give back. This you can’t. And it is hard to shut out of your mind.

Historia
James Comey might best be known as the FBI director that Donald Trump fired in 2017, but he’s had a long, varied career in the law and justice system. He knows better than most just what a force for good the US justice system can be - and how far afield it has strayed during the Trump presidency. In his much-anticipated follow-up to A Higher Loyalty, Comey uses anecdotes and lessons from his career to show how the federal justice system works.

Excellent
Revisado: 05-02-21
Each book of James Comey is excellent. But this one is especially good as it explains things. I am not sure whether Trump supporters could read this book and learn from it as many have never read news that isn’t filtered by a political lens. I applaud Comey in this book and find his last chapter to be as meaningful as his first chapter.
I hope he will write another book that will continue to make me think.

Historia
George W. Bush, the 43rd president of the United States, has authored a personal biography of his father, George H. W. Bush, the 41st president. Forty-three men have served as president of the United States. Countless books have been written about them. But never before has a president told the story of his father, another president, through his own eyes and in his own words. A unique and intimate biography, the book covers the entire scope of the elder President Bush’s life and career.

Excellent
Revisado: 01-11-21
I didn’t support them but I admire them. I found this book paralleled others I had read by their family. The son George Bush manages to give his father respect and to tell both sides of the story and the closeness of the family. I read this during the last of Trump’s days in the White House and I marvel that those who elected the Bush men as presidents could have ever elected Trump. Bravo that there were some Republicans to respect.

The Title Also Works as the Book Title
Revisado: 07-19-20
The writer’s performance is quite well done but there appears to be too much of the same information and that information is repetitive and goes on and on.
Mary Trump does explain how Donald Trump is raised but rather than integrating the story as to why he acts the way he does, she lectures us about him. And this is especially true at the end.
I must say that I wonder if this book had been written by someone else if it would have been published.

The Best so far
Revisado: 07-17-20
I’ve read a lot of the Stone Barrington series but during COVID-19 I have been reading them in the order the books were published. While all of the books are fun not all are wow. This book has a good plot and some character development of the characters never before met in any book. I listen to the books and Tony Roberts is great.
