Historia
Joe Gere said he died on the afternoon his 12-year-old daughter Brenda disappeared. It was left to Brenda's mother Elaine to sustain her stricken family, search for her missing child, and pressure the authorities for justice. From the first minutes of the investigation, suspicion fell on Michael Kay Green, a steroid-abusing "Mr. Universe" hopeful, but there was no proof of a crime, leaving police and prosecutors stymied. Tips and sightings poured in as lawmen and volunteers combed the Cascades forest.

True Crime at it's best....
Revisado: 01-20-19
Jack Olsen was one of the great True Crime authors of our time, combine that with Kevin Pierce's unequaled narration and you have a book that holds you from start to finish. Such a sad story throughout, full of humanity and such unparralled tragedy. The story tells of the loss of a child and the heartbreak it brought on to the Gere family and yet also deals with their healing and how life eventually comes full circle. Jack Olsen's tale touched me and I found myself with tears in my eyes a few times. Kevin Pierce has become one of my favorite narrator's since purchasing Audible and he has never disappointed. His performance, yet again, is delivered with such poise and timing that you never tire hearing him. You will not be disappointed.

Historia
The biggest lie in history is about to be shattered. UFOs are real. In late June of 1947, three extraterrestrial craft were downed outside Roswell Air Force Base. Many more followed, revealing dozens of ET species and a Rosetta Stone to a new physics, an energy generation and propulsion system responsible for interstellar space travel. This new system could have easily replaced oil, gas, coal, and nuclear plants - and with them, the entire geopolitical and economic order on our planet. But a cabal of bankers, the military-industrial complex, and Big Oil stopped it.

Wow! Excellent story!
Revisado: 08-05-18
Narration is spot on and wondercully timed. He truly is a great narrator. The accents and fluidity of speech makes this an enjoyable experience, [as enjoyable as a murder story can be that is]. Author did some great research and stayed on point the whole time, I never found myself zoning out due to too much unnecessary details.

Narrator is absolutely horrible
Revisado: 07-16-18
Had some potential but I tried listening to this book for about 2 hours and was constantly having to rewind because of the narrators tempo. His style of reading is distracting and has no flow to it whatsoever. I asked my fiance a dozen times what was happening and she could not even tell me because the narration was so terrible. Don't waste your money.

The attention to important detail. Not so much the book lost focus, but enough to keep you listening intently.
What was one of the most memorable moments of I'll Be Gone in the Dark?
Her accounts with the detectives.
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
Her rhythm and timing
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
How he was always so close to being caught but always slipped through the cracks.
Any additional comments?
Great story, it is unfortunate that Michelle's life ended so quickly and tragically. I would have enjoyed reading more of her work had she been able to continue. She had the drive and ambition to be one of the great True Crime writers of her time. If only we would have had the privilege to see more of her works. May she rest in peace.

good book but it kinda drags on with too many details at certain points in the story. Sometimes I found myself grasping at every word waiting for more then others it dragged because it went off on irrelevant points.

Historia
In some murder cases, the truth behind the most tragic of crimes crystallizes with relative ease. Not so with these fascinating accounts drawn from the personal files of Ann Rule. What happens when the case itself becomes an intractable puzzle, when clues are shrouded in smoke and mirrors, and when criminals skillfully evade law enforcement in a maddening cat-and-mouse chase? Even the most devoted true-crime listener won't predict the outcome of these truly baffling cases until the conclusions revealed in Ann Rule's marvelously insightful narrative.
