I have mixed feelings about this memoir...
Revisado: 09-16-23
...because it feels more like a really long thank you message to Priyanka's parents and family, those first few chapters... from a no doubt very determined girl, who came from a very privileged family...
as a woman, I'm very proud of Priyanka and what she has achieved... only this memoir feels like a bit of a long brag... but also why not, have it, flaunt it...
as a woman, I felt that connect when she talked about being bullied, and the feeling low phase she went through (after losing her father); and as a dog parent, I felt her when she narrated how Diana helped her bounce back.
as a woman, I'm so happy for her that she found her happily ever after with Nick...
and I feel total respect that she did not name drop or wash any dirty Bollywood laundry in this memoir to boost sales... I've seen some real hate from people about this memoir because she didn't...
inspiring? maybe... interesting? a tad... human? definitely... a slightly entitled one, but I like her anyway...

Revisado: 08-01-23
I enjoyed this book.
The world it is set in was unique, and I can't wait to discover more about it in the rest of the series.
Ember, and the other female characters were strong and badass... almost overshadowing the male characters, who were sweet and supportive...
The most brilliant thing about this book were the plot twists...
I feel like I would have enjoyed this book more if I'd read it instead of listening to it.

I liked Clover, and I loved Fae's Ascent... This sequel did not disappoint at all...
The book starts at the point Clover ended, and is action packed throughout... The reader gets more than just Clover in this book... Many other characters' stories add so much more to the adventure... and there are some amazingly unexpected twists...
The narrator continues to bring the story to vibrant life...

Pride, Prejudice, a Puppy, and loads of fun
Revisado: 06-13-22
I loved this book purely from a fiction / romance story POV...
As a dog mom I can't agree with some of what is normalised here. I don't feel it has anything to do with the author, who comes across as kind and empathetic to animals. It is to do with what is being practiced because people don't know any different. So if you are a dog parent, read this book because you will enjoy it... Please do your due diligence before adopting any puppy or dog advice from any book of fiction though.
Moving on to why I L O V E D this book...
- the narrator did a fantastic job of representing Capone... As if labradors (and all other dogs) are not already illegally cute, the narrator makes Capone and his sheer adorableness (is that a word) come alive
- not only was the book's main protagonist a dog, the book was set in a book shop, and revolved around the Liz who owned that book shop... And she loves Pride and Prejudice, and Darcy... Totally my kind of girl she...
- the gazillion Pride And Prejudice references from the beginning of the book till the end... The tagline of the book is actually Pride Prejudice And A Puppy...
- the story is all things sweet and funny... and had a lovely HEA ending

Revisado: 06-13-22
A fast paced adventure through magic portals into fairyland... Clover is a spunky teen, supported by the most interesting and diverse creatures, on a journey to unravel the curse that has been hers all her life...
The world building is sublime and lovely, truly from a fairytale; Clover - adorable to start with, totally comes into her own by the end of the book, a beautiful character arc; an enjoyable read that comes alive because of the amazing narration.
I can't wait to start the sequel...

this was the last installment of the story of a baron's daughter - Katia, and a stable boy - Wiley... and what a journey it's been... I loved this book just as much as I loved the rest of the series...
Katia and Wiley finally realise their dreams together, and reach the place they will call home forever... with them is their whole extended family... and... they become grandparents... a contented sigh ❤️
it's amazing how the author has woven this saga of the Breuder family with historical events...

Historia
Since she was young, Amy has suffered from Alice in Wonderland Syndrome - it warps her perception of reality and time, causing her to see things that aren’t really there. Revisado: 02-07-22
Amy can see and experience things that her family supposedly cannot perceive... With the aim to make peace with herself, her childhood, and her family before her child is born, she returns home to meet her father...
Amy has Alice In Wonderland Syndrome... Amy can exist in the In Between... And the lines between her surreal realities can blur in the fraction of a second... Time is non-linear, some fragments playing out in an endless loop... Amy is looking for answers... Amy wants to know what is real and what is not... Amy wants to know why...
The reader is swept along with Amy while she talks to her father, in the present and the past, as she recounts her experiences to him... She wonders if he knows, what he knows, and how much he knows...
The writing is almost poetic in its flow, gripping and grim simultaneously... And though I'm not sure if I found the answers, Amy does find her peace...

Historia
Both Peter Frazier and Trent Lockley thought this about the families they were born into. Two boys, the same age, miles apart. They are both from small Texas towns, born in the same hospital, on the same day. However, their lives turned out to be nothing alike. The Frazier family is a large, lively bunch. The fact that they are close-knit and share every detail of their lives with each other always seemed a little strange to Peter. Although he loves every one of his six siblings and his overly affectionate parents, he couldn’t help but feel out of place around them.

dark and disturbing...
Revisado: 09-30-21
This book was dark and disturbing, fiendish and fascinating, intense and ingenious... The blurb does not even begin to do justice to the book... and hearing it as an audiobook made it even more disconcerting and difficult to deal with... I could predict some of the things that happened in the book, and it still twisted my gut when it happened...
I liked the lively and lovable Frazier family... especially Marybeth...
Trent made me feel uncomfortable, he was so unpredictable and unpleasant...
Read. This. Book... I mean listen to it...
