If only they had used a different narrator
Revisado: 01-10-15
Would you listen to Aftermath again? Why?
It is a very gripping story that is very well written.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Inspector Banks, a very beleivable character.
How could the performance have been better?
The details are introduced much in the way that they would be in reality, a little at a time.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
His exaggerated Yorkshire accent is annoying and lacks fluidity.
Any additional comments?
This story is interesting and introduced the topic of abusive relationships well. The characters are all well observed and believable.

Historia
Chief Inspector Armand Gamache and his team of investigators are called in to the scene of a suspicious death in a rural village south of Montreal. Jane Neal, a local fixture in the tiny hamlet of Three Pines just north of the U.S. border, has been found dead in the woods. The locals are certain it's nothing more than a tragic hunting accident, but Gamache smells something foul in these remote woods.

A gentle and intelligent murder mystery.
Revisado: 02-24-12
Would you listen to Still Life again? Why?
Yes I would and have listened to it again. There is so much depth here.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Not on the edge of my seat but very interested in the characters that it did not need to be intense.
Which scene was your favorite?
It is hard to choose a favorite scene, but if I had to choose it would be the cellar scene with Clare and Ben.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When they uncovered the drawings on the walls.
Any additional comments?
I tried this book as an experiment but have decided I have to have the series. These characters are so strong, they make you what to find out more . An excellent book.

Historia
Anthony Powell's universally acclaimed epic encompasses a four-volume panorama of twentieth century London. Hailed by Time as "brilliant literary comedy as well as a brilliant sketch of the times," A Dance to the Music of Time opens just after World War I. Amid the fever of the 1920s and the first chill of the 1930s, Nick Jenkins and his friends confront sex, society, business, and art.

One of the best books I have ever listened to.

I first heard this book on book at bedtime in the U.K. and was delighted to find it here. I like the drawing of the characters and its very Englishness. It may be too English for some. Enjoy!
