Chasing Liberty is everything I love about small-town western romance—feisty heroines, strong but tender-hearted cowboys, family drama, and a whole lot of unexpected love. Rhonda Lee Carver has penned a story that’s as bold and spirited as Liberty Rose herself, with just the right mix of sass, sweetness, and suspense to keep you hooked from start to finish.

Liberty is a firecracker of a heroine, determined to carve her own path—even if that means entering a fake marriage to defy her father’s ultimatum. But what starts out as a rebellious scheme quickly blossoms into something real and deeply emotional. Wyler, the ruggedly dependable ranch hand with a quiet strength, is impossible not to root for. Their chemistry sizzles, and their slow-burning transformation from convenient partners to true love is beautifully done.

Marcus Barton brings the characters to life with a rich, textured narration that pulls you right into Sagebrush Rose. He captures Liberty’s fiery determination and Wyler’s quiet resolve perfectly, adding depth and warmth to every scene. His voice has that perfect cowboy grit and charm that makes the story all the more immersive.

This audiobook is more than just a romance—it's about taking risks, finding unexpected joy, and realizing that love can bloom even in the most unlikely places. Chasing Liberty is a standout addition to the Cowboys of Sagebrush Rose series, and I can't wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the sisters!

Highly recommend for fans of fake marriage tropes, heart-tugging cowboy tales, and stories with just the right blend of heat and heart.

If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if a call center rep with a murderous streak, a mob boss, a corrupt senator, and a beautiful woman all collided in a whirlwind of crime, dark humor, and chaos—then The C.C.K. Killer is the audiobook for you. Victor Woffard Sr. delivers a wickedly entertaining blend of thriller and comedy, but it’s Marcus Barton’s masterful narration that truly brings this wild tale to life.

Marcus Barton takes on this audacious story with the perfect balance of grit, humor, and unpredictability. His deep, commanding voice gives the main character, Barry (a.k.a. The C.C.K. Killer), a mix of charm and menace, making him as likable as he is terrifying. Barton seamlessly switches between an array of eccentric characters, each with distinct personalities, from a sleazy politician to a mob boss with an agenda. His comedic timing is impeccable, landing every sarcastic remark and absurd situation with the right amount of bite.

The narration keeps up with the story’s fast-paced, rollercoaster energy, ensuring that listeners stay engaged and entertained from start to finish. Barton’s voice acting elevates the satire, making even the darkest moments feel laced with humor—an impressive feat for a book that juggles murder, power struggles, and love.

Story & Characters: A Twisted, Addictive Ride
Woffard crafts a wild, almost absurdist narrative, where every decision Barry makes seems to push him deeper into chaos. What starts as a seemingly simple attempt to leave his murderous ways behind quickly spirals into a tangled web of crime, betrayal, and romance. The supporting characters are just as vibrant as Barry himself, from his fiercely loyal best friend to the dangerous and corrupt forces pulling the strings in the background.

Despite the dark subject matter, the book never takes itself too seriously. The humor is sharp, the situations are ridiculous in the best way possible, and Barry’s journey toward his own twisted version of “happily ever after” keeps you hooked. Woffard’s writing thrives on unpredictability, making it impossible to guess what’s coming next—except that it’s sure to be outrageous.

Final Verdict
The C.C.K. Killer is a rare find: a dark comedy thriller that keeps you laughing while pulling you deeper into a world of crime and chaos. Marcus Barton’s narration is the perfect match for Woffard’s sharp storytelling, making this audiobook an absolute must-listen for fans of dark humor, antiheroes, and stories that break all the rules.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 Stars) – A wildly entertaining audiobook that blends murder, comedy, and crime into one unforgettable ride. Barton’s narration is top-tier, making this one of the most addictive listens you’ll come across. Proceed with caution—once you start, you won’t want to stop.

The tenor of this audiobook might be tough for some to deal with. Its a poignent story about CJ who grew up in a physically and emotionally abusive house. The only bright spot in his live is the girl that lives on the same street with him. when she moves away, he begins to pick himself up and force himself to be a better person in order to win her back some day,

The story alone is enough to make you feel all of the feels, but its the inclusion of the immersive experience that Marcus Barton's narration provides that drives it home. You feel as though you are in the room as CJ witnesses his mother being abused or the joy he gets just being around the girl down the block.

I could definitely see this being made into a movie, it really tells a harrowing story.

If you’re in the mood for a mystery that’s equal parts funny and intriguing, Unbalanced by D.P. Lyle is a delightful pick. This witty, fast-paced mystery gets a big boost from Marcus Barton’s charming narration, which adds an extra layer of entertainment to a story that’s as quirky as it is suspenseful.

Marcus Barton delivers the perfect performance for this humorous mystery. His voice is crisp, clear, and just the right amount of lighthearted. He knows exactly when to infuse a touch of humor into the dialogue, ensuring that the more absurd moments land with just the right comedic timing. Barton’s ability to switch between different characters with subtle shifts in tone and personality helps keep the plot both lively and engaging. Whether he’s voicing the hero or the witty sidekick, his performance brings the book's colorful characters to life in a way that makes them feel like real, albeit quirky, people.

His pacing is another highlight—he’s able to seamlessly glide between suspense and humor, making the transitions between tense moments and laugh-out-loud exchanges feel natural. If there’s one thing that Barton does brilliantly, it’s making sure that the humor never feels forced, and the mystery never gets overshadowed by the jokes.

In Unbalanced, Lyle crafts a mystery full of unexpected twists, colorful characters, and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. The plot revolves around an unlikely detective trying to solve a murder he walked into while helping his father—yet the story never loses sight of the mystery itself. While the protagonist might be a bit hapless and surrounded by eccentric characters, the stakes are high enough to keep things from tipping too far into slapstick territory.

The humor in the book is largely situational, driven by Lyle’s sharp writing. There are plenty of moments that will leave you chuckling, but the story still holds its own as a solid mystery. The characters are fun, if not always the most competent, but that’s part of the charm. Their missteps, awkward moments, and strange discoveries only add to the entertainment.

There’s a fair bit of absurdity woven into the narrative, which could leave some listeners rolling their eyes at times, but it fits perfectly with the tone of the book. It’s not a mystery that takes itself too seriously, and that’s what makes it so fun.

Unbalanced is a hilarious and unpredictable mystery that’s perfect for anyone looking for something light-hearted yet intriguing. D.P. Lyle’s storytelling combined with Marcus Barton’s lively narration makes this audiobook an absolute treat. If you love mysteries with a side of comedy, you’ll enjoy the quirky characters and unexpected twists that Unbalanced offers.

While the plot can sometimes be a little over-the-top, it’s all in good fun, and Barton’s narration ensures the humor never feels forced. It’s a delightful listen that doesn’t require too much thought but delivers plenty of entertainment. If you want a break from more serious thrillers, Unbalanced will leave you laughing and guessing until the very end.

Nowhere to Hide is a sweet, slow-burn romance that blends opposites-attract charm with heartfelt emotional depth—and Marcus Barton’s narration adds just the right amount of grit and tenderness to bring it all to life.

Andrew Grey crafts a compelling dynamic between Sinclair Llewelling, the impeccably stylish and slightly uptight wedding planner, and Dawson West, a gruff, no-nonsense ranch foreman with a heart of gold beneath his grumbles. Their initial friction feels authentic, grounded in misunderstandings and clashing values, but as the story unfolds, it transforms beautifully into a mutual respect that slowly simmers into genuine affection. The tension between them is palpable, and when it finally gives way to vulnerability, it’s deeply satisfying.

Marcus Barton delivers a nuanced performance, capturing Sinclair’s wit and polish without making him feel caricatured, while also giving Dawson’s gruff exterior a weathered, steady warmth. Barton’s subtle shifts in tone highlight the emotional undercurrents between the characters, particularly as they navigate the growing attraction that neither of them expected.

What makes this story stand out is its balance—between romance and personal growth, between city sophistication and country simplicity, and between individual responsibility and shared love. The ranch setting adds a grounded realism, and the subplot of planning a family wedding gives it all a touch of charm and urgency.

For fans of heartfelt MM romance with just the right amount of drama and a satisfying emotional arc, Nowhere to Hide is a lovely listen. It’s a story about letting go of assumptions, trusting your heart, and finding love in unexpected places—with a narrator who makes the journey feel all the more intimate and authentic
