Historia
My role as Moric—ruler of a small and prosperous fiefdom in a quiet corner of the world—has always been painfully dull and stifling. Until a beautiful, otherworldly creature with pink skin and a mane of golden hair falls through a strange void that has appeared in my guestroom. I am instantly captivated by him. I have never seen anything like him. I have no idea where he came from, and what else is through that unsettling void—another world filled with soft-skinned, defenseless creatures like him? No tails, no horns, no claws, no sharp teeth. Tiny clothing, rounded ears, bright blue eyes.

Revisado: 03-14-24
Michael Lesley one again delivers on these amazing characters. Great narration that took this favorite book to a new level of enjoyment. I can’t wait for the next installment in the series. Lily’s world is so rich and amazing while still being steamy and heartfelt. It’s more than just a romance novel. One of my absolute favorite series. Jugs and Lor are such a great couple and you’ll be rooting for their happy ending.

Historia
When I—along with my best friend and his big purple monster boyfriend—come across a fortress-like raider camp while journeying across the monster-infested Wastes, we stop to deliver a message. Somehow, that simple pit stop turns into a seemingly impossible quest to get this camp's missing leader out of the prison where he's being held and forced to fight monsters and other humans. I know exactly where it is because I've been there. Problem is, I'm making this journey with the prickliest and most arrogant guy I've ever met, who seems to hate me on sight. Oh, and he's also half-monster.

Love this series so much!!!
Revisado: 10-19-23
Each story in this series is such a great story. The world is so rich and unique. Every time I’m done reading one, I think to myself this is it, this is my favorite couple. Then I read the next and think nope this is my favorite couple. Now listening to the series on audible I’m having the same dilemma over again. Michael does an awesome job giving these characters a voice. Even if it wasn’t what I pictured in my mind, it’s exactly perfect when I hear it. So for now Moth and Charlie my absolute favorite! That is probably until Seraph comes out. Lol!

Braveheart, gladiator, teenagers and tears
Revisado: 07-20-23
If you want blood, guts and injustice for all, this book will give you that. I say this in the nicest way possible, what an awful, powerful and encompassing story. I mean this book was brilliant, but man it was hard to go through this with Darrow. I hope he gets closure. It’s the only thing you can really want for him, because nothing will make life better again. You feel for what he has to become in order to change the world and it’s so sad and heartbreaking. I have to finish it and know how it ends but such a tragic tale. That said, the author got me. The writing is brilliant and I am following like a fan girl crying and screaming along the way.

Was not disappointed
Revisado: 05-04-23
Been waiting what feels like forever for this book. I know life happens so I fully understand that the ending was delayed. All I was looking for was that it would still meet what i had been hoping for all this time which was closure and the end of the game. That being said, It wasn’t everything I thought it would be but, Ileave this world content and satisfied with its end. I thought Emma one again did a good job narrating however, I did miss the accents she used to do. Again time in between I understand. Wasn’t my favorite but I’m not disappointed.

Who knew the biggest arachnophobe would love a Spider Romance
Revisado: 04-17-23
I’ve read this entire series, and am eagerly waiting Rekosh’s book to come out. This is such a great series. Honestly, I am the biggest spider scaredy cat, but I love the Vrix. Was so excited to see this on Audible. It was everything I hoped for and I didn’t even mind the what everyone is calling the “Batman” voiceover. I figure Ketahn would’ve sounded a little gruff and alien so kudos to the narrator in going for it, and not trying to make him sound generically human.

Historia
I first saw the Folk when I was a little boy, when they started appearing in my garden, with their unnatural, cruel beauty and honeyed words and veiled taunts. I grew up with big green eyes watching me from the forest. Whispers from the trees. Shimmering skin darting between the bushes. Black creatures always lurking in the shadows. While they were here, I thought nothing of them. It wasn’t until they were gone that I realise it wasn’t…normal. But it isn’t until I’m twenty-one, when my life is in ruins, that they come back to take me away.

So good you’ll lose sleep listening
Revisado: 04-16-23
This book was great to read. Now listening to it with Joel narrating, I am even more captivated if that’s possible. Between this and the Monstrous series Lily can’t put them out fast enough for me to absorb. Everything she writes is just so good. Joel is amazing narrating fantasy characters. You’ll be so wrapped up in his voice that you won’t be able to stop even when it’s time to sleep.

Lassiter, the fallen angel, is too good at the savior business. In his new role overseeing the fates of all vampires, he’s influenced outcomes he shouldn’t have—so the Creator is calling him home. But the angel has a reason to stay in Caldwell. He’s bonded with a mysterious female who seemed to appear from out of nowhere...and has powers that defy all reason.

I can’t decide if I loved or hated it
Revisado: 04-14-23
The storyline went in so many directions that it was hard to get a read on the feels for this book. I was almost disconnected from getting emotionally invested until the wrench at the end and even though it had a silver lining the overall down turn took away my happiness of the final
reunion. I also had a hard time feeling the connection between Raven and Lassiter. They seemed thrown together more than most couples before them. Plus a lot of the side stories seemed thrown in and easily dismissed like the angels for example. Usually the side stories get me really interested and foreshadow new potential books. These kinda fell flat except for maybe Nate. Overall, I love the BDB series. This book made me return to Caldwell and laugh at Golden Girl references but, as I’ve said I’m really torn on if I liked this book. Hopefully, the 33 and 1/2 years is never written about and any new books pick up from the next generation already grown. I don’t know if i could handle anything in the what I’ll call the “dark period.”

Historia
Twenty years ago, monsters rose on earth and began a new age of civilization. One where humans live in military-controlled, cramped and dirty cities along the coasts, and the majority of the United States is known as the Wastes. A lawless, desolate and dangerous place, teeming with monsters that have claimed the land for their own. Including Wyn the Soul Eater. He appears every three years, making his way across the country and slaughtering humans randomly, sucking them dry until they’re nothing but husks.

Be prepared for the long con!
Revisado: 07-29-21
The story is slow to pick up and you’ll have a hard time getting into the characters. Halfway through the book I was wondering if I was ever going to get into it. I kept listening because I am an avid fan not only of the BDB but also Jim Frangione. Last third of the book, I was firmly in, “not one of her best but, it’s OK”. Finally, when we got to the last four chapters I realized this is a set up, I’ve just been conned into the long-haul. Well played Ms. Ward, well played. Could’ve used more excitement in the beginning but, it accomplished its goal. I’m hooked and waiting for the next book.

I wish this book had been first!
Revisado: 01-04-20
The premise of this story is not new, the YA dystopian series has been done by many. However, I wish this story had come before all the others like it. This should’ve been the book that started the fandom because it really hooks you. Gwen Lark is a great heroine. She has great personality, realistic flaws and true heart. Her growth is believable and not too over the top. There is so much in this book but I don’t feel like it drags or has unneeded filler. I was riveted the whole way through. I’m still reeling from the end of the book and I’m starting book two immediately. The narrator was also amazing. She did a great job with pacing, different character deliveries and accents. Her emotion was well done and had me really engaged. The story premise itself was also very clever and unique. I thought the author did a very cool take in a genre that’s been done again and again. I loved this book. I’ll admit I’m a huge sucker for the dystopian genre so, I knew I would probably enjoy this book. However, I am more than pleasantly surprised by how much this book really got to me. I’m ranking Qualify as one of my favorites.
