Historia
Every year, the empire administers the rite of passage into adulthood. That rite serves to identify those blessed by Aether to become magi. The new magi are shipped to the academy to learn the arts of magic. The academy is a dangerous place; the tournaments held twice each year can cripple or kill the students, and the clans of the empire will go to great lengths to recruit the students they want. Gregory had one dream: to become a magi like the legends of old. Though he was ridiculed by the residents of the village and his unsupportive father, he never wavered from his dream.

Promising start derailed by porn.
Revisado: 05-30-24
Not for me, pity as this seemed to have promise. It quickly devolved to a hot tub BJ with a fox woman. Likely a great read for a 14 year old with raging hormones. Returning it.

Historia
Clyde Hatchett, Glaton's prodigal son, is finally home. Sure, he's got a whole new body and face, so nobody recognizes him. And technically he's not from Glaton—he's really only spent a few months there. But they say home is wherever your love resides, and since Nadya lives in Glaton . . . wait, does Clyde actually love Nadya? This is getting complicated. That, on top of all the problems Clyde left behind, which haven't gotten any less knotty while he was gone. The Senate is heating up, with numerous noble idiots vying for the throne.

Wonderful narration, good plot development
Revisado: 01-01-24
The narration is top notch, the plot overlays with the other series (GoodGuys), and that overlay really adds to the storylines. I really want vicious wrench to be used on some pontificating evil doers front teeth. That last bit has nothing to do with the review, just an idle musing on my part.

Historia
Life’s tough when you’re trapped in an eight-year-old body on another world. His name is Eight. Not really, but that’s what the System decided after a slip of the tongue. One moment, he was stepping out the office door on the way home, and the next waking up on a hillside below a town wall. Oh, and the gate guard drove him off, because he thought Eight was a monster. What’s a boy to do in a world full of magic and so many, many hungry creatures searching for their next meal? Well, there’s an old man inside that body, and he'll use everything he’s learned to survive.

Revisado: 06-08-23
I like the story, the word choices, the maturity of the protagonists decisions, the reasoned approach. The editing was well done and the narration was good. I immediately purchased the 2nd book.

Historia
Well, this year, after the Spring Planting season, I’m really gonna relax and put down roots. It’s the slow life for me. Sure, the talking animals and cultivators coming to live with me are a bit weird, but this year everything is gonna be basically normal. There definitely won’t be any Heavenly Tribulations, ancient formations, or cultivator issues to deal with . . .

The enjoyable story continues
Revisado: 04-08-23
I like this story, each character gets developed, each having their own personality. They all grow stronger, thus there is progression. The author manages this without going balls deep with OP characters. The narration is, of course, fantastic. Travis is very skilled at his craft.

Historia
Kennedy Bennett comes from a long line of curse weavers. For centuries, her family has plied their trade in Unstable, Massachusetts, an unconventional small town that's welcomed paranormal practitioners since the dawn of spiritualism. Kennedy has recently struck out on her own, opening an antiques shop in Boston, where her specialty is uncursing and reselling hexed objects. Then Aiden Connolly walks into her life with an offer she really should refuse. The scion of a wealthy family of luck workers, Aiden has a scheme to get his hands on the most famous cursed object of all.

Could not get past the angst-ie dialogue in the first few chapters.
Revisado: 12-08-22
As the title says I did not finish this. This kind of dialog is not for me, I just cannot stand it. I had hoped for a good adventure story, and perhaps it has one, but the prickly dialogue one one side, and the tone deaf male character just combined for an irritating listen. As I did not finish it I cannot justify a poor rating, so I gave it three stars and am planning on returning it.

Historia
Corporate flameout Ned Altimer dreams of leaving his world behind. So, when Earthblood Online splashes onto the VRMMO scene, he dives in and never looks back. His advantages are twofold: exclusive access to the game’s three-day Head Start period, and a ridiculously handsome talking axe named Frank who has knowledge of the game’s deepest secrets...if the magnificent Frank ever feels like sharing them.

I enjoyed this entire story, no periods of lost interest. I also like the protagonist and the appropriate use of statistics as they were not over the top. The narration, is of course, first rate.

I had a few problems with this book six.
Revisado: 05-08-22
My main complaints with this book come down to two things, The redundancy of the goblins being in the inn and everyone who comes in looks to start a fight, and Erin seems to have not learned a thing from the exact same story line previously presented in earlier books. In fact it is pretty much the same as the skeleton Torren in the inn. My main complaint is the extraordinary show of power by the Necromancer. We already previously have seen the pre-eminent mage dragon run low on power by projecting over a vast distance, well here not only did the Necromancer build an unescape able trap to capture the highest level general on the continent, he then proceeded to remote in his five lieutenants. Sure his servant was there after being defeated and was some how the anchor so they appeared right inside this small and inescapable trap, but he also opened a viewing portal that allowed two way communication and visual observation. Then when his lieutenants are getting stomped he burns another irreplaceable scroll and pops in, proceeds to then casually blast the shit out of Zell with zero apparent effort. It just seemed to stretch the already established power levels way out of wack. So now he can not only raise unlimited dead, his servant lieutenants each have to be drawing power from him and they are each the equal of a named adventurer, but he can remote view, pop in and release blast after blast of super potent attack spells, after he already , remotely mind you, cast repair spells and what not on his beat to shit lieutenants. The author appears to have broken their own established framework on power levels.

Historia
Kaiju: Battlefield Surgeon. Survival horror. One of the most brutal, most terrifying full-immersion games ever made. A place where fantasy characters such as elves and dwarves clash with technology, where giant monsters roam the hills, entrusted with protecting the gates of heaven from the demons who would tear it all down. A game where one plays the last of the battlefield surgeons: a healer tasked with keeping the behemoths alive at all costs. But on this server, they don't care about the game. They've come because of the game's most unique feature: full pain.

So this story reminds me of the movie “Very Bad Things”. This is due to the fact that it starts out with bad stuff that just keeps getting worse. However I listened to the entire thing, and for me it was an interesting story.

Historia
Beset by nightmarish creatures from the caverns below, Jason’s tribe is slowly being whittled away. He dreams of joining the glorious Shadowfront and battling the enemy known only as the Void. But, as a lowly Pastfinder, he is denied that path - until he chances upon the ruins of a long dead civilization and discovers a forgotten form of cultivation, one fueled by the ghosts of centuries-lost history and powerful, forbidden knowledge. If his fellow tribesmen learn of his new power's cursed origins, the Void will be the least of his concerns.

This is a good story
Revisado: 01-17-22
I like this story a lot, good progression with the protagonist. A Well described world holds future promise for more books. Well written and Travis is a terrific reader. My five breaks from the story flow: Adrenaline (used three times), and decimate was used twice. Nothing in the world building would explain the use of these words, especially the miss use of decimate. With the substitution of better descriptions to account for those two words (and no break from the immersion) I would have given it five stars. Hopefully a quick retroactive edit and a redub of the novel will be undertaken to fix that.
