Historia
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

Enjoyable but needs a professional reader
Revisado: 10-22-20
I've enjoyed all this author's books but this book unlike the others is read by the author rather than a professional reader. if this is your first book by this author I recommend starting with another book.

Historia
Most people have heard of the Celts - the elusive, ancient tribal people who resided in present-day England, Ireland, Scotland and France. Paradoxically characterized as both barbaric and innocent, the Celts appeal to the modern world as a symbol of a bygone era, a world destroyed by the ambition of empire and the spread of Christianity throughout Western Europe. Despite the pervasive cultural and literary influence of the Celts, shockingly little is known of their way of life and beliefs, because very few records of their stories exist.

These are the stories of celtic mythology
Revisado: 09-24-20
This book was not bad, however, when I purchased this title I was interested in learning more about Celtic mythology and as a result the larger Celtic world. This book is a collection of actual Celtic stories. They aren't bad but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. If this is what you want this may be a great listen for you.

Historia
Greg Donahue’s The Minuteman, tells the story of one of Newark’s native sons; ex-prizefighter and longtime Zwillman enforcer Sidney Abramowitz, a.k.a. Nat Arno, who took over leadership of the Minutemen in 1934 and made it his personal business to put an end to what he saw as the Bund’s “anti-American” activities. For six years, Arno and his crew of vigilantes battled Newark’s Nazis at every turn. The Minuteman is a story of the ethics of violence in the face of fascism; a forgotten legacy that is as relevant now as it was nearly a hundred years ago.

Honoring a forgotten hero
Revisado: 01-24-20
This is a great book memorializing a hero and movement that was forgotten. This is a good but brief introduction to the American Nazi movement that preceded WW2.

Learn the best time to do everything - from drink your coffee to have sex, or go for a run - according to your body's chronotype. Most advice centers on what to do, or how to do it, and ignores the when of success. But exciting new research proves there is a right time to do just about everything, based on our biology and hormones. As Dr. Michael Breus proves in The Power of When, working with your body's inner clock for maximum health, happiness, and productivity is easy, exciting, and fun.

Good if you're interested in meditation
Revisado: 01-17-20
This book is an experiential guide to meditation. I highly recommended if you're interested in learning to meditate however if you're wanting something that is more research driven or informational on the subject of self-compassion you may want to look elsewhere. It's not that the information the author reveals is bad it's just not in great depth. Also one final note turn up your speed up 1.75.

Historia
Do you sometimes feel as if you're just going through the motions in life? Are you good at looking and acting as if you're fine, but secretly feel lonely and disconnected? If so, you are not alone. The world is full of people who have an innate sense that something is wrong with them - who feel they live on the outside looking in, but have no explanation for this feeling and no way to put it into words.

Great information on unique niche
Revisado: 01-16-20
This book identifies how research has overlooked emotional neglect and tries to explain how this happens. The book does a great job of explaining how this happens in families that many would consider good. Highly recommend if you're interested in psychology, family systems, attachment, or self-development.
