Historia
The visual arts teach us to look for the image behind the image—not the tree without leaves—but the cutout left after the foreground is removed. I think that life’s key secrets are hidden from our minds in this way. All You'll Never Be: Because of Who You Are looks at reality through this reversed perspective, seeking to understand the backgrounds that often shadow our lives.

thought provoking and strong core message
Revisado: 11-26-23
The core message within the book is beautiful. You can feel the author's emotional connection to her words. I did find some of the more philosophical references hard to follow. I felt as though my mind had drifted off, wandering off into other thoughts. I would have to pause, go back, and re listen to parts. I do feel this is my personal preference and not everyone would find this to be true. Her music on the audiobook flowed beautifully with Her words. It was a great addition. The portion of thought two grabbed me most. The bit of the grasshopper reflecting and losing his ability to find joy in hopping because he can now be envious of others with so poignant and relevant to our world today. I received so many great things from this book, even though I had to listen to It twice. The message is so important and beautiful. I will take it with me and carry it from here on out.

Historia
She's old enough to be his mother. Alice has always looked young for her age, even with her graying hair and her dowdy New Jersey housewife style. Make that ex-housewife: Now that her husband's gone and her daughter is grown, Alice is in desperate need of a whole new life. So she lets her best friend Maggie, a hip New York City artist, transform her on New Year's Eve. Soon, thanks to the wonders of hair dye and tight jeans, Alice looks really young, as one night in a Manhattan bar confirms.

If you're a fan of the show... not for you
Revisado: 06-02-20
I found the story to be cheesy. I'm a big fan of the show and almost wish I had read the book first. the difference between the two, kept making me flip back and forth in my head from what I knew of the show and now the book. Especially the fact the daughters name in the book was diana, I would then have the boss diana in my. I also found myself getting frustrated with Alice. So many of her interactions with the other characters. I kept wanting her to be stronger and more sure of herself and the decisions she had made. I kept waiting for her to be more like Liza in the show. Though there were some similar features to the characters from book to show, I found myself constantly comparing and always coming to I like the show better.
