Too much talking and too little action

Interesting characters and world building, I feel there's a good story creeping through the gaps in the monologue.

The protagonist is constantly reminding the listener of how much of a 'better" person he is without any real action. At least 80% of the story is the "dark lord" monologuing on the same "moral" points again and again. While the actions happens in the background with little or no reason but to prove how great and conflicted the protagonist is. You can tell he really is great because all the woman like him.

Sadly it didn't add anything to the first book and feel everything could of been resolved then rather than dragging it out over another book.

It's all about dungeons just very slow about it

The summary is really off, it mainly about trying to complete dungeons with unmotivated and reluctant party members dragging their heels behind the leader. If any one gets motivated it's about money or magic items and nothing slightly helpful or altruistic.

Conversations are constantly rehashed between different people and sometimes the same people. At lot of talking about plans to do things and very little doing, Slice of life stuff can be in great detail or complete forgotten about, jarringly so.

The voices for the different characters where distinct and easier to hear. Which makes the whole thing better, but not enough to want to continue the series.
