Historia
When the System came to Earth, technology failed, monsters appeared, and billions died as humans were inducted into the game-like physics the System enforced. Unfortunately for the System, not all humans were on Earth. Some scattered postbiological individuals decided to push it back, and embarked on a decade-long crusade to eliminate the System from Earth.

just finished the series. it's good
Revisado: 04-24-25
if you liked the first book then the next two books are just more of the same. but it really is absolutely worth it. the ending was solid and the epilogue was fabulous. everything was so enjoyable. I wish the MC wasn't quite so one note. but honestly other characters become more important as you go and they're much more in depth and interesting. and the World building is both completely irrelevant and fascinating

Historia
In the years since the Annexation War, Cato has quietly spread throughout the System, watching, waiting, and building his forces. When the Sydean Lineage returns, he finally has a line to the Core, and once he can deal with the System Core, he can bring down the System for good. Of course, it isn’t so simple. The System-gods are aware of him now, powerful and ancient forces waiting to pounce on any mistake — and perfectly willing to murder millions of innocents for even a perceived injury against him.

solid ending to a fabulous series. I'm not really sure what else to say. I can't say that I stayed up to one in the morning to finish this book because I couldn't stop listening. this is a real review. because I'm not really telling anything about the book itself. if you already made it through the first two then you don't need any persuasion to go through the Third. five stars

Historia
The Incursion Event has been announced, and sapient races from across the multiverse are invading the newly integrated planet Earth. These beings have decades, centuries or even millennia of experience living within The System and wield powers far beyond the mutated Beasts and mana-spawned Monsters Drew and his friends have faced in the past.

insulted a major religion
Revisado: 02-18-25
yep. the author decided to blasphemously insult a very active prominent religion. if you are Christian or Muslim or Catholic skip this book. the first book was on the line and this one definitely fully crosses it within the first two hours. hard pass stay away. returned.

Historia
In just seven days, the world will crumble. The System's Descent will usher in a new era of chaos: wild animals mutating, monstrous creatures emerging, and the cessation of modern technology. Humanity will be left defenseless. Drew Wright knows none of this. At least not until he is rudely ripped from his bed and thrust into a white room to undergo a taser-happy ‘Tutorial’. Turns out, he is one of a thousand randomly selected people to be forewarned of the approaching apocalypse. Now, he faces the delightful task of convincing his wife and mother of the devastation hurtling towards them.

a solid story that was very enjoyable but one big flaw
Revisado: 02-17-25
the story itself is amazing. I liked a lot of things about it and overall it provided an excellent couple of hours. but a big problem for me was that it had " Christians" ... the reason I have such a problem with this is that the author is definitely not himself a Christian but may have thought he was as a child because. he writes some of his characters as caricatures of Christians. I wish the author would have left all of that out of the book because the depictions are insulting. and he repeatedly implies that all these Southern Christian folks are stupid and can't tell the difference between Jesus and the main character. seriously annoying. it Beggars belief and took me out of the story every time. author, please leave active religions out of your works of fiction.

short stories that are so much fun
Revisado: 01-09-25
this book is a collection of the short stories that happened before and after and during the main events of cradle. and they are ridiculously interesting and fun. I mean this is my second night in a row staying up till one in the morning enthralled by these excellent stories. marvelous. I cannot express enough how giddy I feel. and the looming dread that I've only got an hour left until it's over.

Historia
Earth was invaded. Earth was conquered. And humanity was summarily subjugated, as 400,000,000 people were culled. The terrifying part was this only took the Peacekeepers a second. There wasn't even a chance for us to fight back. In the blink of an eye, questions like whether or not we're alone in the universe or at the top of the food chain were answered. We were not. Not by a long shot. Despite the mass murder, the Peacekeepers promise they're benevolent. They don't want to rule Earth. They don't want to control humanity. They just want us to stop playing around with AI and genetics.

Historia
When summoned to a fantastical world and granted powers by a broken System, most freshly minted protagonists would strap on their big-boy boots and get ready for their stats to start climbing. But Fischer isn't like most MCs. In fact, he doesn't want to be a hero at all. Fame? Fortune? Power? He had enough of all that in his old life. Discovering forbidden fishing techniques and petting every cute animal that comes within scritching distance? Now that's a good time.

Historia
Pete is a simple man who enjoys a good drink amongst good friends. Not too much to ask, right? Now, he's trapped in a fantasy world far from home, stuck underground and inside the body of a smelly dwarf with fantastic facial hair. The worst part? The swill that the dwarves are falling all over themselves to drink. It's flat, it's watery, and it has the alcohol content of a rancid coconut. Can Pete save the dwarves from their own sour fate, or will he be forever doomed to plink his pickaxe away in hopes that he hits the motherlode?

factorio with a mediocre mc
Revisado: 02-13-24
not really a lot to say here. if you have played factorio, then you understand the general idea behind this book. if you take those elements out then you're left with just a kind of poor attempt at a summoned hero story. the main character whines a lot about everything. it's really not terrible but it's not great.
