Weird accent shifts

I haven’t finished the book yet but I already know it’s going to be fire. Only problem is that the narrator has done a complete accent shift on a bunch of the main and side characters. I’ve listened to books performed by this narrator and this hasn’t ever happened before. Either the authors told him to change them to fit their imagination or it’s been so long since Luke did the last book that he forgot which accents he did for each character and didn’t bother to go back and remind himself. Still going to listen but I’m going to have to get used to the voices all over again.

Based on the other comments and reviews it appears that if you did not like book 7 then you will like book 8 if you liked book 7 then there is a better chance that you will not like book 8.
With that observation out of the way I will give my own opinion. I enjoyed Ascension more than the previous books due to Arthur not saying “If I was just a little more powerful,” over and over again. More progress was made in Ascension than literally all of the other books combined.

Pretty good

Like a lot of others I bot this book expecting to get the same characters, at first I was a little hesitant but the book and its characters grew on me. Throughout the book they give subtle hints that these characters and the characters in book 1 might meet, I sure hope it happens eventually this book may not be as good as #1 but still a good one if you plan on following the full series.
