And for many years readers would need to be content with the tantalizing glimpses of it found within the pages of The Lord of the Rings and its appendices, including the forging of the Rings of Power, the building of the Barad-dûr and the rise of Sauron.

Good presentation, scrap story!

Well done voice acting but the “story” is so scant it often sounds like the Appendices of the LOTR. Which is fine but it feels incomplete near the end, kind of sketched out, just an outline of the story.

Denethor seems to turn a bit quickly, but I’m sure it was fated! Andy Serkis kills it with a variety of voices and accents for the characters with real pathos
