Beautiful story of family, friends and love.
Revisado: 03-11-24
This was a beautiful story weaving the love, friendship and search for meaning in the lives of the main characters. The way Jojo develops the characters is deep and meaningful. She is a master storyteller and I was drawn in right from the beginning.

Historia
The first full-length biography of Fred Rogers, The Good Neighbor tells the story of this utterly unique and enduring American icon. Drawing on original interviews, oral histories, and archival documents, Maxwell King traces Rogers’s personal, professional, and artistic life through decades of work, including a surprising decision to walk away from the show to make television for adults, only to return to the neighborhood with increasingly sophisticated episodes, written in collaboration with experts on childhood development.

What a genuine, talented and generous man
Revisado: 02-16-24
I loved learning about the man behind the show. It was interesting to find that what we saw as children was who he genuinely was. Lavar Burton did a tremendous job in narrating. It did get a little long but was so interesting. we need more Mr. Rogers in this world.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

well written
Revisado: 02-10-21
I loved the story. It was not a typical WW2 novel. The narrator was very good. I really enjoyed her different accents. I found the authors note at the end interesting that the character Imogen was based on her relative.
