I have red half a dozen books about the evolving crisis of opioids, meth, fentanyl, and disillusionment in America, and this is the best one. This book takes an extremely satisfying and variable approach to the complex and delicate issues at hand, by telling personal stories, and painting with broad strokes. Quinones proves that the core of the issue is not found in addiction, but in capitalism and conspiracy. I found the entire thing to be touching and engaging. I have recommended this book to friends and family members, coworkers and strangers online, people who are new to the issue, drug counselors, judges, prosecutors, addicts, former attics, and academics. Phenomenal book. Please read and share.

This book is so meticulously researched and presented with such precise intention. Gross analyzes the evidence and organizes his arguments with clarity and purpose, in order to drive his conclusions home.
