Historia
It began in Ethiopia, hundreds of thousands of years ago, when a handful of genetic mutations caused evolution to split from the primates and mankind was born. Now, eons later, evidence of more splits from the apes is being unearthed. And with them, a disturbing realization. Ours was only one of many.

The best yet!
Revisado: 04-07-19
I was completely unprepared for this book to end. We get vested in the characters and the story lines and I was not ready for it to end! I can hardly wait until the next book....this is so much fun to read and to be a part of the author's imagination!

Loved it but
Revisado: 01-29-19
Amazing story but the narrator butchers such common words; urinal? Cupola? Took two books to correct megalodon

Mispronounced words
Revisado: 09-19-18
The narrator is annoying at times, mispronouncing some words so much I almost didn’t recognize the word. I figured it out based on the context of the script. Cotton mouth and sometimes feels like he is struggling for air. I apologize but he is difficult to listen to st times. I love the author

Revisado: 02-13-18
Where does Breakthrough rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It's a keeper and I will enjoy listening to it over again.
What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?
His voice is easy to listen to and his inflections make sense to me.
Any additional comments?
I didn't realize that this was the first of a series and I am excited for the next book!

Historia
A strange plague called the "Gets" is decimating humanity on a global scale. It causes people to forget - small things at first, like where they left their keys... then the not-so-small things like how to drive, or the letters of the alphabet. Then their bodies forget how to function involuntarily - and there is no cure. But now, far below the surface of the Pacific Ocean, deep in the Marianas Trench, an heretofore unknown substance hailed as "ambrosia" has been discovered - a universal healer, from initial reports.

Not what I was looking for
Revisado: 08-30-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Greatly reduce the inner demons and I would have ben happy. I listened to the first 4 hours or so and just got tired of the painfully intimate and graphic details of the death of a child and his miserably horrible childhood. I was looking for a straight up "alien" story. If you do enjoy deep psychology thrillers, this probably would be of interst to you. The reading was excellent, just not what I was looking for
