Historia
Author and award winning filmmaker Richard Martini explores startling new evidence for life after death, via the "life between lives," where we reportedly return to find our loved ones, soul mates and spiritual teachers. Based on the evidence of thousands of people who claim that under deep hypnosis, they saw and experienced the same basic things about the Afterlife, this audiobook documents interviews with hypnotherapists around the world trained in the method.

Swallowing spit, stumbles and background noise
Revisado: 04-16-25
It’s such a disappointment that one of the most important books in my life has to be so difficult to get through. I listened to the entire book because this topic is extremely important to me and I wanted to learn as much as I could. While I don’t consider myself to be especially sensitive to things like swallowing loudly in the middle of a sentence or hearing cars drive in the background, I did find the narration distracting time and time again. It almost sounds as if the narrator is doing a live reading at a library. The problem with this is that in this community (those who regularly listen to audiobooks) it has been established that these narrations are professional. Not just the actual audio quality, but the actual narration of the book. It was crazy to me that the narrator would, in the same sentence: repeat a phrase he messed up, swallow his spit and smack his lips, all while you heard cars driving in the background. I found myself laughing out loud several times because of the absurdity of the whole thing… Overall takeaway: Richard Martini must be here to teach us patience, because this book is tough to listen to.

Historia
The Simulation Hypothesis, by best-selling author, renowned MIT computer scientist, and Silicon Valley video game designer Rizwan Virk, explains one of the most daring and consequential theories of our time. Drawing from research and concepts from computer science, artificial intelligence, video games, quantum physics, and referencing both speculative fiction and ancient eastern spiritual texts, Virk shows how all of these traditions come together to point to the idea that we may be inside a simulated reality like the Matrix.

Narrator: take a drink of water
Revisado: 10-25-24
I was distracted from the mouth noises (clicks and pops) that come from a dry mouth. Also, it was poorly edited. I love Rizwan Virk’s work but will be reading a hard copy myself.

Historia
Drawing from Moskowitz's original research, as well as studies from fellow economists such as bestselling author Richard Thaler, the authors look at: the influence home-field advantage has on the outcomes of games in all sports and why it exists; the surprising truth about the universally accepted axiom that defense wins championships; the subtle biases that umpires exhibit in calling balls and strikes in key situations; the unintended consequences of referees' tendencies in every sport to "swallow the whistle," and more.

First narrator I’ve disliked
Revisado: 02-22-20
This narrator makes me want to clear my throat every 30 seconds. Very throaty and annoying. It gets worse about halfway through.
